Flutter Entertainment said it will cut around 220 jobs across its U.K. and Ireland division as the company moves to consolidate its brands onto a single technology platform, citing regulatory pressures and rising business costs.

The Paddy Power and FanDuel owner has launched a redundancy consultation, with its Leeds headquarters expected to absorb most of the job losses. The Wellington Place office in Leeds currently employs around 1,000 staff.

“As part of a broader strategy to bring some of our brands on to a single tech platform – and against the backdrop of increasing cost and regulatory pressure – we have entered into consultation with a number of colleagues,” a company spokesperson said.

The company confirmed that fewer than 10 positions would be affected in its Dublin office, while the brunt of the layoffs is expected to hit roles in tech and product teams.

Flutter, which also owns Sky Bet and Betfair, recently announced that Sky Bet will migrate to the Paddy Power Betfair platform as part of efforts to streamline operations and cut costs. The move is part of a broader realignment of its technology infrastructure across brands.

“We are working with those affected to explore redeployment opportunities wherever possible,” the spokesperson said, but added that “it is likely that some roles will regrettably become redundant later this year.”

The announcement comes after Flutter reported mixed financial results for the first quarter of 2025. Revenue in the U.K. and Ireland rose just 2%, compared with an 8% rise company-wide. The division, Flutter’s second-largest, generated $882 million in Q1 revenue, while its U.S. operations brought in nearly $1.7 billion.

Flutter employs around 27,000 people globally, with roughly one-third based in the U.K. and Ireland.
