BetMGM has launched a new responsible gambling television commercial featuring NHL superstar and brand ambassador Connor McDavid alongside former NHL player and actor Terry Ryan.

The spot, titled “Mullet Over,” is airing in the U.S. and Canada and across digital platforms. It promotes responsible play by encouraging customers to pause before betting and highlighting BetMGM’s in-app responsible gambling tools, using a light hockey-themed approach.

The commercial was produced by New York-based creative agency CAPE in collaboration with BetMGM’s creative and responsible gambling teams. McDavid also shared the campaign message on social media, emphasizing mindful and deliberate betting.

“Filming the ‘Mullet Over’ commercial with Terry was a fun opportunity to combine hockey humor with a meaningful message,” said McDavid. “It’s important to stay in control, and BetMGM’s tools and resources help customers do just that.”

BetMGM offers responsible gambling features such as time and spending limits, along with GameSense®, an education program developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and integrated across BetMGM’s digital platforms and MGM Resorts properties.

According to BetMGM Director of Responsible Gambling Richard Taylor, the campaign is designed to deliver a clear and memorable reminder for players to think before placing a bet. “We’re committed to finding new and creative ways to reach customers and encourage them to ‘mull it over’ before they place a bet,” he said.

The new ad follows BetMGM’s 2024 responsible gambling campaign ‘Carried Away’ with McDavid, which led to a 38% increase in Ontario players using deposit limits and a 55% increase in players using stake limits.

McDavid has served as a BetMGM brand ambassador since 2022. Ryan is a former NHL first-round pick who now works in acting and entertainment.
