Betsson expects fourth-quarter revenue to be broadly stable despite a slowdown in its Nordic and Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA) markets, while forecasting a sharp decline in operating profit due to higher costs and taxes.

Preliminary results show revenue of €304 million ($353.61 million) for the three months to Dec. 31, 2025, down about 1% from a year earlier. Operating profit (EBIT) is expected to fall 24.3% to €53 million ($61.65 million), compared with €70 million (81.42 million) in the same period of 2024.

The company said performance was uneven across regions. CEECA remained Betsson’s largest market, generating €120 million in revenue, though that was 9.1% lower year-on-year. Revenue in the Nordics fell 15% to €34 million.

Those declines were partly offset by growth elsewhere. Revenue in Western Europe rose 15.1% to €61 million, while Latin America climbed 7.7% to €84 million, supported by new market launches in Brazil and Paraguay during 2025. Revenue from the rest of the world exceeded €5 million.

By product, casino gaming continued to dominate, generating €220 million, up 2.8% from a year earlier. Sportsbook revenue declined 8.8% to €83 million, while revenue from other gaming products fell to €1 million.

According to the company, the share of revenue from locally regulated markets reached a record 68%, up from 60% a year earlier, pushing gaming taxes up 23% to €53 million. The shift in revenue mix, combined with lower sportsbook contribution, is expected to reduce gross margin to 60.5% from 65.3%.

Personnel costs rose to €52 million, reflecting higher headcount, continued investment in product and technology, and non-recurring items.

“Betsson’s business is diversified and spans across many markets. The business in general is developing positively,” said Pontus Lindwall, President and CEO of Betsson AB. “Last year, we made significant investments in product development, which is mainly done with our own employees and leads to higher personnel costs.”

I am optimistic about 2026, where I am especially looking forward to the FIFA World Cup and also to being able to start reaping the benefits of the investments we have made in product development,” he added.

Betsson is scheduled to publish its full fourth-quarter report on February 5.
