ICE Barcelona 2026 officially kicks off today, Monday, marking the start of what organisers describe as the largest gathering in the history of the international gambling industry. Held at Fira Barcelona Gran Via from January 19–21, the event opens World Gaming Week, a six-day programme that places Barcelona at the centre of global gaming business, policy discussion, and technological innovation.
According to Clarion Gaming, organiser of ICE and co-located iGB Affiliate Barcelona, this year’s edition is set to welcome more than 65,000 delegates from over 180 countries. Across the week, suppliers, operators, regulators, policymakers, and technology leaders will take part in what Clarion projects to be more than 1.25 million pre-arranged and impromptu business meetings, reinforcing ICE’s position as the industry’s most commercially significant event.

“Bringing together a projected 65,000-plus delegates from more than 180 countries, there is absolutely no doubt that this is the most important week in the gaming calendar,” said Stuart Hunter, Managing Director of Clarion Gaming. “These conversations will help define the future of gaming across continents during 2026 and beyond.”
World Gaming Week begins in earnest
While ICE and iGB Affiliate run over three days, World Gaming Week spans January 18–23, extending activity beyond the exhibition halls into curated networking events, forums, and private meetings across Barcelona. Clarion estimates that the scale of participation will translate into around 1.5 million total business engagements throughout the week.
This year’s edition brings together more than 750 exhibitors, with Clarion projecting the unveiling of approximately 25,000 products and services across every regulated gaming vertical. Many of those launches are timed specifically around ICE, reflecting how deeply exhibitors align their R&D and commercial cycles with the event.
“We understand how exhibitors plan their innovation pipelines around ICE,” Hunter explained. “That’s why the show continues to be the primary launch platform for new technologies transforming how the industry operates and engages players.”

From London to Barcelona: Building on a record-breaking first year
ICE Barcelona 2026 builds on the momentum of the event’s first year in the city, which redefined attendance benchmarks for the industry. In 2025, ICE and iGB Affiliate attracted a combined 59,101 unique attendees, surpassing the previous record set during the final London edition in 2024.
ICE alone recorded 50,019 unique visitors, representing an 11% year-on-year increase, while iGB Affiliate welcomed 9,082 attendees, a 24% rise on its previous high. Total visitation across the venue reached 107,664 person-days, another industry record.
“Seeing so many industry professionals make the journey to Barcelona was a powerful validation of the decision to relocate the show,” Hunter said in an exclusive interview with Yogonet. “But the responsibility was clear: take the feedback, analyse the data, and elevate the experience further for 2026.”
For this year’s edition, Clarion has introduced a series of operational refinements informed directly by exhibitor and visitor feedback. These include a return to the 2024 opening hours, additional information points across the venue, a dedicated space for meetings and device charging, and the introduction of a Good Neighbour’s Charter aimed at reducing friction between exhibitors.

Regulation and the fight against illegal gambling take centre stage
Regulation remains a defining theme as ICE Barcelona 2026 opens, with Clarion targeting a record-breaking attendance of approximately 400 regulators, up from more than 300 in 2025. The expanded Regulatory Programme reflects growing industry concern around illegal gambling and its economic and social impact.
ICE Portfolio Director Margaret Dunn highlighted the urgency of coordinated action, referencing findings that illegal online gambling costs EU member states an estimated €20 billion annually in lost tax revenue.
“All of the conversations we have with international stakeholders confirm the importance they attach to tackling the illegal market,” Dunn said. “ICE is using the power and reach of its brand to help expedite a joined-up strategy.”
This year’s programme includes closed-door sessions, working lunches, discounted access for regulators, and exclusive events such as the ICE World Gaming Gala, supported by a newly established Regulatory Advisory Board.
World Gaming Forum opens with Soo Kim keynote
Strategic dialogue begins today with the opening of the ICE World Gaming Forum, widely regarded as the industry’s most influential leadership programme. The Forum’s opening keynote will be delivered by Soo Kim, Chairman of Bally’s Corporation, who will share insight into the group’s “Always-On” vision for integrating digital and land-based gaming operations globally.
Bally's Soo Kim to deliver kickoff keynote
“Soo Kim’s participation reflects the Forum’s growing reputation as the industry’s single most influential strategic platform,” said Damien Ashton-Wellman, Conference Manager and Head of Content for ICE Barcelona.
In 2025, the Forum attracted 1,200 senior delegates from 79 countries. This year’s agenda addresses cross-sector challenges, including illegal gambling, land-based growth in Europe, sports betting collaboration, iGaming personalisation, lottery innovation, and evolving fraud and cybersecurity threats.
Innovation platforms: Enterprise Stage, Pitch ICE, and Start-Ups
Technology-led conversation takes centre stage at the newly rebranded Enterprise Stage in Hall 5, designed as ICE’s show-floor content hub. Today’s programme sets the tone for discussions around AI, cloud infrastructure, fintech, and responsible play, with contributions from Microsoft, AWS, Huawei, and industry leaders.
On January 20, the Enterprise Stage will host the final of the Innovator Challenge, delivered in partnership with Microsoft, marking the first time a global technology leader has partnered directly with the gaming industry in this way.
Alongside enterprise-scale innovation, ICE continues to support early-stage businesses through Pitch ICE. Applications for the 2026 edition increased by 200%, with 12 shortlisted companies from nine countries presenting to judges drawn from across investment, entrepreneurship, and gaming leadership. The winner will receive €15,000 in AWS credits and the Pitch ICE 2026 Trophy.

A global bridge between markets
Barcelona’s location continues to reinforce ICE’s role as a global connector between Europe, North America, and Latin America. In 2025, professionals from 186 countries attended ICE Barcelona, with 83% travelling from outside Spain. Spanish attendance surged by 603% year-on-year, while Italy recorded a 55% increase.
For 2026, Clarion has expanded its regional initiatives, including a strengthened focus on Latin America through partnerships with ANJL in Brazil, the launch of Academia America Latina, and collaboration with CIBELAE and Italian industry bodies.
“Every big decision ICE has made has been taken in partnership with the industry,” Hunter said. “Collaboration ensures the show reflects real regional needs while maintaining its global perspective.”
The industry’s most important week begins
As doors open today at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, ICE Barcelona 2026 begins what Clarion describes as the most important business week of the global gaming calendar. With expanded exhibition space, record international participation, and a programme spanning regulation, innovation, and strategy, the event once again positions itself as the place where the world of gaming goes to do business.
Whether through headline keynotes, regulatory collaboration, start-up pitches, or millions of business conversations unfolding across the city, the next three days are set to shape the direction of the industry well beyond 2026.
