Technology will take centre stage at SBC Summit Rio as Brazil enters its second year of regulated online betting, with organisers positioning innovation as a key differentiator between market leaders from those struggling to keep pace.

The Tech Innovation track will take place on March 4, 2026, at Riocentro, forming part of the three-day summit running from March 3 to 5. The event is expected to attract around 15,000 attendees from across Brazil’s betting and gaming ecosystem.

“In the first year of regulation, everyone’s priority was getting to grips with the new rules. In year two, the mindset is already evolving,” said Rasmus Sojmark, chief executive and founder of SBC. “Operators and suppliers now want to push beyond the basics and ask, ‘How do we get ahead?’ Technology is central to that next step.”

“The sessions in this track will show where the smartest investments are and how innovation can translate into stronger performance in Brazil’s rapidly maturing market,” he said.

According to SBC, the Tech Innovation track is designed to help operators and suppliers navigate increasingly complex regulatory, product and infrastructure demands, while identifying technology investments that can deliver competitive gains in a rapidly maturing market.

The track will open with a panel led by Serpro, focusing on the digital systems underpinning Brazil’s regulated betting framework. Titled Building Brazil’s Regulated Digital Infrastructure, the session will examine how player data verification, system certification and secure connectivity are being implemented in practice.

Product development will be addressed in Engineering the Next Generation of Casino Hits, a panel analysing how designers are using player psychology and gamification to build content for Brazil’s mobile-first market. The discussion will feature executives from Brabet, BetMGM and BetEsporte, and will focus on crash mechanics, intuitive user experience and data-driven design.

Responsible gaming will be the focus of Player Protection Isn’t Just a Regulatory Checkbox, which will explore how technology can be used to meet Brazil’s player protection requirements. Representatives from BetBoom and VBET will examine tools such as real-time self-exclusion, deposit limits and proactive risk management systems aimed at identifying and supporting at-risk players earlier.

The Tech Innovation track will conclude with 2026 World Cup: First Kick in a Newly Regulated Market, a panel examining how operators can prepare for Brazil’s first World Cup under regulation. Executives from Optimove, SOFTSWISS, Tigerbet, UXGroup and Bet Aki will discuss technology investments and retention strategies aimed at capitalising on the tournament-driven surge in player activity.

Another session, presented by FERJEE, titled The Game in a Digital Arena: Integrity and Compliance, will examine how the betting industry is addressing integrity risks in esports wagering, where volumes have grown sharply amid ongoing concerns over match manipulation and fraud.

The Tech Innovation track is one of five dedicated streams at SBC Summit Rio, alongside Leadership, Affiliation, Payments and Marketing, as organisers seek to position the event as a key forum for navigating Brazil’s regulated betting market.
