SBC Summit Americas will examine regulatory and compliance developments across Latin America as operators face higher taxes, tighter oversight, and growing pressure on market growth and competition.

On June 10, 2026, the event’s Latin America Regulation & Compliance track will take place on Stage Five, bringing together operators, regulators, and legal specialists to address key policy and market issues shaping the region’s betting and gaming landscape.

The sessions will cover recent and proposed tax increases in Brazil and Colombia, Chile’s progress towards a regulated framework, efforts to build a safe and sustainable market in Argentina, and the drivers of iGaming growth in Mexico.

“Latin America’s regulatory landscape is evolving rapidly, and operators need to understand not just the rules, but the reasoning behind them,” said Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and founder of SBC. “This track brings together the voices shaping these frameworks to help stakeholders navigate complexity and identify where opportunity and compliance intersect.”

The track will open with a discussion on Brazil’s planned increase in gross gaming revenue taxation in a session titled Don’t kill the little guy: The implications of Brazil’s GGR rise. Speakers include Angelo Alberoni of A2FBR, William Bonalume of Open Gaming, Frederico Caputti of Altenar, Iuri R. Castro of Caixa, and Marcos Sabiá of Galerabet. The panel will examine whether higher operating costs could push smaller local companies to sell to larger international groups and whether the proposed framework supports a diverse domestic market.

Colombia’s recent introduction of a 19% value added tax on online gambling deposits will be addressed in the session IVAmos bien! The implications of Colombia’s emergency tax. Evert Montero Cardenas of Fecoljuegos and Iliana Pineda of Wplay will discuss the impact on operator revenues and concerns that players may migrate to unregulated platforms.

Argentina’s regulatory and public policy environment will be explored in Navigating the PR Labyrinth: Managing Publicity in Argentina’s iGaming Market. Panellists Agustín Li Gambi of the Neuquén provincial regulator, Ezequiel Alejandro Domínguez of LOTBA, and Santiago Gandara of BetWarrior will consider potential advertising restrictions and how the industry can build public trust while maintaining long-term viability.

Additional panels include Is Chile on the Cusp, which will assess whether the country is close to establishing a regulated iGaming framework, and Mexican iGaming: Strategies for Revenue and Player Acquisition, examining the regulatory, player, and commercial factors driving growth in Mexico.

SBC Summit Americas will be held at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale from June 9 to 11 and is expected to attract around 10,000 delegates focused on the Latin American and US betting and gaming markets.
