Maryland’s MGM National Harbor has opened its newly expanded High Limit gaming area.

The area adds 4,000 square feet of gaming space, bringing the total to 14,000 square feet. The expansion includes a new High Limit slot room featuring approximately 110 slot machines, up from 55 previously, along with 19 table games and a new flexible gaming room capable of accommodating up to eight additional tables.

The space has also been fully renovated with new wall coverings, carpet, crystal ceiling fixtures, and a grand entry chandelier.

The opening included a ribbon cutting ceremony, remarks from Vice President of Casino Operations Alexander Alvarado, and a traditional lion dance blessing ahead of the Lunar New Year.

The new High Limit gaming area marks an exciting evolution of the MGM National Harbor casino floor and underscores our continued commitment to excellence, innovation, and elevated guest experiences,” said Alexander Alvarado, Vice President of Casino Operations at MGM National Harbor. “As we approach our 10th anniversary, this investment reflects how we’re building on a decade of success while continuing to deliver best-in-class experiences.”

The new Flexible Gaming Room can be reconfigured to support a variety of gaming layouts based on guest demand and promotional programming. Lighted decorative millwork wall panels and natural stone detailing create a refined architectural aesthetic. Crystal ceiling fixtures accent the pit areas, and foldable partitions allow for seamless space transitions.

The High Limit Bar features a curated collection of premium spirits available exclusively within the High Limit area. Decorative metalwork, rich millwork, and stone accents define the contemporary design, while backlit stone paneling adds warmth and visual depth. A dedicated service bar, discreetly positioned behind the main bar, enhances efficiency and guest service.

The existing salon has also been upgraded with custom purple felt table coverings, new wall finishes, carpeting, and crystal lighting fixtures to create cohesion between the original and expanded spaces. Updated furniture, fixtures, and equipment, including new pit stands, seating, and additional furnishings, ensure a consistent and elevated design throughout.

The project marks the latest investment in the resort’s gaming floor as it approaches its 10-year anniversary.
