iGaming solutions provider SOFTSWISS has released a Sportsbook KPI guide designed to support smarter betting analytics and help operators manage sportsbook performance beyond surface-level metrics.

SOFTSWISS described the guide as a practical framework designed to provide operators with a clearer understanding of performance drivers, profitability, and long-term player value. It is based on the expertise of the SOFTSWISS Sportsbook team and reflects demand for structured analytics in an increasingly competitive and regulated market.

Rising acquisition costs, higher player expectations, tighter regulation, and intensifying competition have reshaped how performance is measured, according to the guide. While Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) and Net Gaming Revenue (NGR) remain core indicators, they need to be analysed in context.

For example, a surge in turnover during a major tournament may appear positive, but after factoring in bonuses, conversion, and churn rates, the long-term impact on business performance may be limited.

The guide links financial outcomes with acquisition efficiency, player behaviour, retention, and operational stability, with the aim of helping operators understand not only what happened, but why.

SOFTSWISS structured the framework around three categories:

Business and Profit KPIs focused on financial performance and margin health
Growth and Funnel KPIs tracking acquisition and lifecycle conversion
Engagement and Operational KPIs measuring activity levels, player experience, and operational stability.

Each section outlines what the metrics measure, why they matter, and how they relate to other indicators, enabling operators to identify early warning signals and inefficiencies.

Alexander Kamenetskyi, Head of Operations at SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, said: “A strong month doesn’t always mean a healthy business. KPIs only become valuable when they explain margin quality, bonus efficiency, and player behaviour over time.

“If a KPI does not trigger a decision or adjustment, it remains reporting for the sake of analytics. This guide is about helping operators read the full picture, spot risks early, and make decisions that hold up beyond a single peak or tournament.”

The guide also outlines a shift from retrospective reporting toward real-time decision loops, predictive models, and cross-vertical insights, particularly as sportsbook and casino operations become increasingly interconnected.

The Sportsbook KPI guide is available for download on the SOFTSWISS website and follows the company’s 2026 iGaming Trends report, which examined AI adoption, responsible gambling, betting formats, and regulatory change across global markets.
