Gaming in Finland is set to host a webinar on the Finnish iGaming license application process and tech requirements. The session will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 14:00 CET/15:00 EET, titled “How Finland is different.”
Finland’s gambling regulator will begin processing online gambling license applications on March 1, 2027, four months before the country opens its iGaming market on July 1, 2027, with secondary legislation and technical requirements expected to be published in the coming weeks.
The forthcoming secondary legislation and related technical standards are required for the proper submission of license applications. While full details have not yet been released, Finland’s regulatory model will differ from frameworks in other Nordic jurisdictions, including Sweden and Denmark.
“If you are considering entering the Finnish iGaming market, this webinar comes at a most opportune time: one or perhaps two weeks after the publication of the secondary legislation that is necessary to submit your license application,” said Willem van Oort, founder of Gaming in Finland. “Naturally, we are particularly grateful to our local partners for helping us make sense of the license application process and the associated technical requirements.”
The webinar agenda includes:
- Regulatory update
- FAQ: The license application form
- Technical requirements & acceptable solutions
Confirmed speakers are:
- Morten Ronde, Founding Partner, Nordic Legal
- Pekka Ilmivalta, Head of Finnish Office, Nordic Legal
- Technical expert, Ubetec
