Thousands of gambling industry executives will gather in Rio de Janeiro next week for the third edition of SBC Summit Rio, as Brazil’s regulated betting market enters its second year under a formal framework.
The event will take place at Riocentro from March 3-5, bringing together operators, affiliates, game studios, payment providers, regulators, and marketing agencies to assess lessons from the market’s first year of regulation and outline strategies for the year ahead.
Launched in 2024 as a meeting point for companies exploring Brazil’s regulated market, the summit has since grown into a major fixture in the country’s gaming calendar. Last year’s edition recorded 200% year-on-year growth in attendance and secured the “Exhibition Growth of the Year” title at the EN Indy Awards 2025.
“The Brazilian market doesn’t stand still,” said Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC. “By year three, the conversation is more nuanced. Companies want clarity, real dialogue with policymakers, and connections with operators on the ground. That’s what we’ve focused on delivering in Rio. The business gets done during the day, and yes, we make sure people enjoy the evenings too.”
More than 150 speakers are scheduled to address delegates across three conference stages, covering leadership, technology innovation, payments, marketing, and affiliation. Sessions are expected to focus on operational challenges in Brazil, including managing the speed-and-fraud trade-offs of PIX payments, navigating advertising rules overseen by CONAR, and preparing for potential shifts in tax and jurisdictional policy.
Headline speakers include Chris Kypriotis, former Global VP and CEO of Nike Brazil, and Brazilian streamer Aruan Felix. Kypriotis will discuss high-performance business cultures, while Felix is set to address audience growth and monetisation in Brazil’s creator-led digital economy.
Public sector representation will feature an exclusive keynote titled “The Making of a Regulated Market” on March 4. Daniele Correa Cardoso, Acting Secretary of Prizes and Betting at the Ministry of Finance, will appear alongside Giovanni Rocco, National Secretary of Sports Betting at the Ministry of Sport, to outline regulatory developments and policy direction.
Senior officials from major compliance and enforcement bodies are also expected to attend, including representatives from state-owned bank and lottery operator CAIXA, the Financial Activities Control Council (COAF), the Brazilian Federal Police, Rio de Janeiro’s Municipal Secretariat of Sport, and the Superior Court of Justice.
Industry executives scheduled to speak include Almir Ribeiro, CEO of BetMGM; Cassio Filter, Managing Director at KTO; Guilherme Figueiredo, Commercial Director at Kaizen/Betano; Sebastian Salazar, Founder of EstelarBet; and JD Duarte, Chairman of Betcris.
The exhibition floor will host suppliers and operators active in Brazil’s betting and gaming ecosystem, including Altenar, Amusnet, BetConstruct, Blaze, Digitain, Esportes da Sorte, Evolution, Kambi, Novibet, Optimove, Sofascore, and Wazdan. The show floor will feature networking lounges, social bars, and a returning food festival format.
Two specialist side events – the Affiliate Leaders Summit and the Payment Expert Summit – will run alongside the main exhibition, offering targeted sessions and networking for affiliate and payments professionals.
VIP pass holders will have access to evening networking events beginning with an opening party on March 3 at Rio Beach Club, featuring Brazilian barbecue and beachside activities. The summit will close on March 5 with INFINITY Rio at Riocentro, headlined by Brazilian EDM artist Öwnboss and British house DJ Marc Vedo.
