Agua Caliente Casinos‘ appointment of Jennifer Reese as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City comes at a time when competition among gaming and entertainment destinations in Southern California continues to intensify.
Operating three properties across the Coachella Valley in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, and Cathedral City, the company has built a long-standing presence in the Greater Palm Springs market, offering casino gaming, dining, and live entertainment while employing more than 2,000 people across its operations.
Reese, a gaming and hospitality executive with more than 25 years of industry experience, previously worked with Agua Caliente Casinos as a marketing consultant and strategic advisor, contributing to the brand unification of the company’s properties. Now leading the Cathedral City location, she brings experience from several major US gaming markets.
In an interview with Yogonet, Reese discusses how her background in competitive casino markets informs her leadership approach and outlines her priorities for guest experience, brand consistency, and operational performance at the Cathedral City property.
You began your career in Atlantic City and later held leadership roles in Bethlehem, Valley Forge, and Foxwoods. How have those experiences in highly competitive gaming markets prepared you to lead Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City?
With previous roles in leadership, success really depended on understanding the guest, staying agile with marketing and operations, and consistently creating ways to differentiate the experience.
Those environments taught me how to balance strong gaming performances with broader competitive offerings like leveraging loyalty programs, targeted promotions, elevated F&B, and key entertainment, to drive visitation and lasting player relationships.
You previously worked with Agua Caliente Casinos as a marketing consultant and contributed to the strategic rebrand that unified the properties under one name. How does stepping into the general manager role build on that earlier work?
When the Agua Caliente Casinos brand unification took place, the Cathedral City property had not yet been built. Helping to bring both Rancho Mirage and Palm Springs properties together under one brand allowed us to operate more efficiently and build stronger recognition and presence in the market rather than competing under separate identities.
When the third property was established, it was a well-planned addition. Now, stepping into the general manager role at Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City, it allows me to ensure that the same brand promise is delivered throughout the guest experience every day – across gaming, marketing, F&B, and service – while continuing to strengthen Cathedral City’s unique position in the overarching Agua Caliente Casinos portfolio.

Cathedral City is positioned as the premier non-smoking destination within the Agua Caliente portfolio. How do you plan to further differentiate the property in the Southern California and Coachella Valley market?
We intend to continue strengthening the Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City property by delivering a convenient, welcoming experience with approachable gaming, strong ACE club rewards, and consistent entertainment and promotions that resonate with guests.
Through our 100% smoke-free environment, paired with our strong service culture, we aim to create memorable guest experiences and loyalty across gaming, dining, and entertainment.
Throughout your career, you have been involved in property openings and brand transformations. What are your immediate operational and guest experience priorities for the Cathedral City property?
My immediate priorities as general manager of Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City focus on delivering a welcoming guest experience from the moment the guest arrives. That means a clean, well-maintained facility, strong operational execution, and leadership teams visible on the floor, both to support guests and team members.
I am also focused on strengthening the ACE club and ensuring promotions and entertainment create stand-out experiences that make guests want to return, again and again.
As we recognize Women’s History Month, what advice would you offer to women pursuing leadership roles in gaming and hospitality, and how do you hope to contribute to advancing female leadership in the industry?
My advice to women pursuing leadership roles and careers in gaming hospitality is to be confident in your voice, stay curious, and seek out opportunities to grow and lead. From my experience, the most valuable things one can do to grow into leadership roles are to build strong relationships, collaborate well, and consistently deliver results.
I also believe workplace culture must make space for diverse perspectives where each team member is valued and where women feel empowered to step into leadership roles and contribute at the highest levels.
