The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has launched an expanded version of its “Don’t Regret the Bet” website during Problem Gambling Awareness Month.

The updated platform for the statewide responsible gaming campaign introduces a broader range of tools, educational materials, and support services designed to help individuals make informed decisions about gambling.

Enhancements include new sections focused on identifying signs of problem gambling, understanding risk factors, accessing confidential assistance, and supporting affected family members. The site also features improved navigation and mobile accessibility to make information easier to find.

Developed and operated by the MGCB, the “Don’t Regret the Bet” campaign seeks to promote responsible gaming while reducing stigma around seeking help. Officials noted that thousands of Michigan residents contact the state’s problem gambling helpline each year, with demand for support services rising alongside increased access to online gaming.

“Responsible gaming starts with awareness and access to reliable information,” said Henry Williams, Executive Director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board. “By expanding our website, we are making it easier for Michiganders to understand the risks associated with gambling and to connect with help if they need it.”

Among the new features are expanded educational content on safe gaming practices, clear guidance on warning signs of gambling problems, and dedicated resources for friends and family members. A newly introduced Youth Gambling Prevention section offers research-based insights for parents, educators, and community leaders, along with tools and conversation guides to address early exposure.

The youth-focused content highlights findings that children introduced to betting by age 12 are four times more likely to develop problem gambling behaviors later in life. Additional research from the Economic & Social Research Institute indicates that individuals who gamble before age 18 are nearly twice as likely to face gambling-related issues as adults.

The website also includes updated FAQs, prevention materials, and direct links to confidential support services, including the Michigan Problem Gambling Helpline.

The website remains free and publicly accessible. To explore the updated resources, visit DontRegretTheBet.org.
