Global betting and gaming company Evoke Plc has established a new Technology Committee to oversee its technology investments and initiatives, as the group continues to pursue cost savings and operational integration across its major brands.
The committee, which takes effect immediately, will operate at the Board level and be chaired by Susan Standiford, an Independent Non-Executive Director and former Chief Technology Officer of IKEA Retail and StepStone. Fellow non-executive directors Limor Ganot and Ori Shaked will also serve as members.
“The Committee will provide Board-level oversight of Evoke’s major technology investments and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy, risk management, and operational effectiveness,” the company said.
Chairman Jon Mendelsohn said the formation of the committee comes at a time when rapid technological advancement is reshaping the gaming industry.
“In a world where technology is evolving at breakneck speed, and in an industry where technology leadership is a core driver of sustainable success, our Technology Committee will play an important role in strengthening the Board’s governance and long-term strategy development,” Mendelsohn said.
“The Committee will focus on providing transparency and insight across our product, technology, data, and operational initiatives, as well as informing the Board and executive leadership on technology trends with the potential to shape the Group’s long-term competitive advantages,” he added.
Under the leadership of CEO Per Widerström, Evoke has emphasized technology-led integration across its portfolio, which includes William Hill, 888, and Mr Green.
The company is targeting £15 million ($20 million) to £25 million ($33 million) in annualised cost savings in 2025, building on £45 million ($60 million) achieved in 2024. A stronger balance sheet has supported Evoke’s recent expansion into new markets, including a £10 million acquisition of a 51% stake in Romanian iGaming operator Winner.ro.
