Clarion Gaming and ICE Barcelona yesterday honoured Pablo Zuppi, director and co-founder of Yogonet, with the “David Orrick Journalist of the Year Award 2026”, recognising his work over the past year leading the news outlet alongside business partners and co-founder Diego Fiz.
The award ceremony took place during the Landmark Awards 2026 in the city of Barcelona, where ICE 2026 is being held until 21 January. The show is expected to attract more than 65,000 professionals over its three-day run.
The prize was presented on the Enterprise Stage at the Fira Barcelona exhibition centre, where the Landmark Awards recognised outstanding individuals and companies in the industry for their long-standing international contribution and performance.
Notably, this is only the second time in its history that ICE has honoured a journalist with the “David Orrick ICE Journalist Award”, created in memory of the respected gaming industry journalist David Orrick, who passed away in September 2024 at the age of 75. Last year, Will Bolton, editor of G3, became the first communications professional to receive the award. This year, the recognition goes for the first time to a Latin American editor and journalist.
“I am grateful to the authorities of ICE and Clarion Gaming for this tremendous honour. Receiving an industry award that bears the name of David Orrick is especially meaningful to me. David was an exceptional journalist and communicator, but above all an extraordinary person, with whom I was fortunate to share long conversations and great moments over the years,” said Pablo Zuppi following the ceremony at ICE.
“This recognition comes after almost 25 years working in communications in this industry and is a great source of pride, but I also see it as a collective recognition. That is why I want to thank the Yogonet team for their daily work — the publication we lead together with my partner Diego Fiz, with whom we founded this project more than 22 years ago. The professionals who make it possible every day are the true recipients of this award, and it is a great honour to share it today with all of them,” Zuppi concluded.
