DraftKings began offering its online sportsbook to eligible users in Puerto Rico on Monday, extending digital wagering access across the island after opening a physical sportsbook at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino in November.

The mobile platform is limited to Puerto Rico residents. Individuals seeking to use the online sportsbook must first complete registration in person at the casino. After registering on-site, customers are able to access the full range of digital features, including in-game wagering, same-game parlays, special odds boosts, and other betting options across leagues such as MLB, NFL, and NBA.

Non-residents are not permitted to use the online sportsbook in Puerto Rico. Visitors to the island, however, may place bets in person at the retail sportsbook operating inside Foxwoods El San Juan Casino.

Puerto Rico has a passionate sports community, and launching our online sportsbook allows us to meet fans where they are. With retail already live at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino, mobile represents the next step in expanding the DraftKings experience across the island – giving eligible local customers a seamless, exciting, and responsible way to engage with sports,” said Gregory Karamitis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sports at DraftKings.

The company stated that responsible gambling measures are central to the online launch. DraftKings makes available tools such as My Budget Builder and My Stat Sheet through its Responsible Gaming Center, allowing customers to monitor and manage their wagering activity.

According to the company, responsible gaming remains a shared priority with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Foxwoods El San Juan Casino.

Since legalization in 2019, Puerto Rico’s sports betting market has developed through a retail-first model requiring in-person casino registration before online access. Competitors vary in eligibility and features, with some extending access to tourists.

Separately, DraftKings and online sportsbook operator FanDuel submitted earlier this week applications in Arkansas seeking partnerships with two of the state’s three casinos as part of efforts to introduce their online sportsbook platforms there.
