The upcoming SBC Summit Canada 2026 will bring together industry leaders, regulators and suppliers to examine the next phase of growth and regulation in Canada’s gaming sector.

The summit will take place from May 19–21 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and is expected to host more than 3,000 senior executives from across the Canadian gaming ecosystem.

The conference will feature a three-stage programme covering topics including Sports Betting & iGaming, Affiliates & Advertising, Cybersecurity, Land-Based & Lottery, Player Protection, and Payments & Compliance.

Organisers will focus on key policy and commercial developments shaping the market, including the national implications of Bill S-211, Alberta’s planned regulated gaming launch and evolving rules around betting advertising.

2026 marks a pivotal moment for the Canadian market. Global sporting events, potential new launches, and national regulation are set to reshape the industry in ways never felt before,” said Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and founder of SBC.

Panels will examine Alberta’s efforts to build a regulatory framework modelled on Ontario’s regulated online gaming market, including potential tax structures, enforcement priorities and the practical realities of a launch.

The event will also explore growth opportunities linked to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as well as developments in daily fantasy sports and Canada’s evolving online poker market. Sessions will further discuss whether Ontario could eventually allow international peer-to-peer gaming liquidity.

This year’s conference ensures the industry is ready for what’s coming; providing the clarity and commercial guidance businesses need to turn this moment of change into an opportunity for growth,” Sojmark said.

Other sessions will focus on consumer protection and industry safeguards. A dedicated Player Protection Symposium will explore how companies can use data insights and artificial intelligence to identify and support at-risk players, while examining whether Canada’s province-by-province regulatory model may be benefiting grey market operators.

A Payments & Compliance track will look at how companies can introduce faster payment flows while maintaining anti-money laundering standards, fraud prevention measures and regulatory compliance.

Meanwhile, a Cybersecurity Symposium produced by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation will address system resilience and the protection of customer data.

Industry speakers are set to include Jared Beber (CEO, Bet99), Paul Burns (President/CEO, Canadian Gaming Association), Johnny Capo (CEO, Betstamp), Duncan Hannay (President & Chief Executive Officer, OLG), Joseph Hillier (CEO, iGaming Ontario), Dallas McCready (CEO, ALC), Hon. Minister Dale Nally (Minister for Service Alberta & Red Tape Reduction).

The event will also feature networking sessions, executive-level discussions and an exhibition floor aimed at facilitating commercial partnerships across the industry.
