International Game Technology (IGT) announced that its Powerbucks™ and Whitney Houston Slots™ games produced a pair of million-dollar-plus jackpot wins during March.
Lucky players secured the major prizes across both online and casino-based play:
- On March 2, an online player in Manitoba, Canada, won CAD $1million (USD $724,521.86) while playing Powerbucks Bounty O’ Bucks slots.
- On March 10, a player at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, won $1,770,058 while playing Whitney Houston Slots™.
IGT’s Megabucks slot pays $10.4 million jackpot at Mandalay Bay
Major jackpots continued into the following month. On April 1, IGT said a Megabucks progressive slot machine at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino paid out more than $10.48 million to an anonymous player. The jackpot of $10,486,432.04 was hit on the Megabucks Triple Red Hot 7s Spitfire Multipliers game with a $5 wager.
IGT noted that Megabucks, launched in 1986, is one of the longest-running progressive slot networks, and the win is part of the large jackpots typically generated by wide-area progressive machines that pool bets across multiple casinos.
