International visitation to Las Vegas reached 4.7 million in 2025, a 4.8% decline from 2024 and 16.4% below 2019 levels, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. Las Vegas visits from Canada dropped 17.4%, as Strip tourism struggled.
The 2019 benchmark remains the last full year before the pandemic, with current figures indicating that most source markets have not returned to that level.
Canada leads despite decline
Canada remained the largest international source of visitors to Las Vegas, with 1,196,300 travelers in 2025. Still, that total declined 17.4% from 1,448,700 in 2024.
Before the pandemic, Canadian visitation typically ranged from 1.4 million to 1.8 million annually, based on data going back to 2010.
An executive from MGM Resorts International said late last month that Canadian travelers account for 30% of the company’s international customers.
Mexico records year-over-year increase
Mexico ranked second among international markets, with 1,187,400 visitors in 2025. That figure represents a 1.0% increase compared with 2024.
During the pandemic period from 2020 to 2022, Mexican visitation exceeded Canadian totals for three consecutive years. Mexican travel has also moved past pre-pandemic levels, with 2025 figures 6.0% higher than 2019.
LVCVA officials described Mexican visitation as resilient.
Most markets remain below 2019 levels
Aside from Mexico, no country within the top 10 international markets exceeded 2019 visitor totals to Las Vegas.
Eight countries recorded more than 100,000 visitors in 2025. China reported 98,300 visitors, placing it just below that threshold.
Markets including China, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Australia continue to record visitation below pre-pandemic levels.
The decline in Canadian travel has been cited alongside other factors connected to Las Vegas tourism trends in 2025, including the collapse of Spirit Airlines and economic uncertainty following tariff policies introduced under Donald Trump.
