Superbet has become the first betting platform available on Apple’s App Store in Brazil after the technology company updated its guidelines to allow fixed-odds betting applications in the country.
The app became available on Monday, days after Apple revised its App Store policies on Friday to permit the distribution of betting apps by licensed operators in Brazil’s regulated gambling market.
The policy shift follows the rollout of Brazil’s regulated sports betting and iGaming framework last year and comes after industry requests for greater alignment between digital platforms and local gambling regulations.
Superbet, which was among the first operators to adapt to Brazil’s regulatory requirements, made its app available for iPhone and iPad users through Apple’s official store on Monday.
Under Apple’s updated rules, operators seeking App Store approval in Brazil must submit a new version of their application for review and provide details of their licence issued by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance (SPA-MF).
The company also requires supporting documentation proving operational authorization. Gambling-related apps in Brazil are automatically classified with an “18+” age rating and must comply with local rules on warnings, disclosures, and age restrictions.
Apple’s iOS ecosystem had previously maintained tighter restrictions on betting apps in Brazil, prompting many operators to rely on mobile web platforms and Progressive Web Apps instead of native mobile applications.
Industry participants view the move as further evidence of the consolidation of Brazil’s regulated betting market and a step toward differentiating licensed operators from illegal platforms.
Smartphones remain the primary access point for Brazilian bettors, and the availability of native iOS apps is expected to improve user retention and conversion rates while giving operators additional tools for customer engagement, including push notifications and CRM strategies.
The development also brings Brazil closer to regulated European markets, where licensed betting operators routinely distribute native apps through official app stores.
