The 318-room hotel at the Saracen Casino Resort in Arkansas is now officially open following the completion of a major expansion project.

The opening is part of a $300 million development that began in May 2024, adding a 14-story hotel tower and a 1,600-seat event center. The project increases the Quapaw Nation’s total investment in the property to nearly $600 million.

Friday marked the first day the hotel was open to all guests, including retail customers, discounted stays, and complimentary bookings.

At launch, about 120 rooms were available, ranging from 400-square-foot standard rooms to 1,000-square-foot suites. By midday Friday, the property was already nearing full occupancy for the night. The standard room rate is set at $285, though officials said pricing will fluctuate depending on demand and other factors.

The hotel rollout will continue in phases, with 180 rooms expected to be available by June 12 and more than 260 rooms operational by the end of the month. The adjacent 16,000-square-foot event center opened in mid-April, but officials are positioning a June 13 concert featuring John Legend as the project’s symbolic grand opening.

“This is a big ta-da moment for the property,” Saffa said, noting the development took nearly seven years from concept to completion.

The hotel has hosted select invitation-only guests in recent days, while casino leadership stayed on-site to test operations before opening to the public.

The expansion has added 230 jobs to the property. In total, Saracen is expected to employ around 1,100 workers with an estimated annual payroll of $60 million, according to recent economic impact estimates.

The hotel and event center position Saracen as a full-scale destination resort, placing it in closer competition with major Arkansas casino operations including Southland Casino Hotel and Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.

Saracen opened its main casino in 2020 on former soybean fields. Expansion plans were delayed for years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain disruptions, and labor shortages.

The casino currently features more than 1,500 gaming machines, nearly 40 table games, a poker room, and both on-site and online sports betting. Amenities include multiple restaurants, a steakhouse, and sports bars.

In 2025, Arkansas casinos generated a record $116 million in tax revenue. Saracen posted the strongest growth rate among them, with taxes rising 12.7% to $30.4 million.
