
Nevada’s statewide gaming win reached $1.39 billion in May, up 7.43% from the same month a year earlier, as the Las Vegas Strip recorded its eighth-highest monthly total on record, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Nonrestricted gaming licensees generated $1,388,340,168 in gaming win during the month. Gaming win, which measures the amount casinos retain after paying out winnings to players, is the standard metric used by regulators to track casino revenue.
For the fiscal year running from July 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026, statewide gaming win totaled $14.7 billion, an increase of 2.76% compared with the same period a year earlier.
Strip drives statewide increase
The Las Vegas Strip posted $807,887,432 in gaming win during May, an increase of 13.19% from $713,767,433 in May 2025. The result ranks as the eighth-highest monthly gaming win in the Strip’s history.
For the fiscal year to date, Strip gaming win reached $8,198,471,003, up 2.28% year over year.
Clark County recorded $1,202,889,993 in gaming win for May, a 7.41% increase from the prior year. Fiscal year-to-date gaming win for the county totaled $12,708,039,253, up 2.29%.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board’s historical records show that only seven months have produced higher gaming win totals on the Las Vegas Strip than May 2026. The highest monthly figure remains December 2023, when the Strip generated $905.3 million in gaming win.
Mixed performance across Nevada markets
While the Strip recorded double-digit growth, several other markets in Clark County posted year-over-year declines.
Downtown Las Vegas reported gaming win of $63,931,768, down 4.16% from May 2025. Laughlin generated $40,976,621, a decline of 5.18%, while the Balance of Clark County, which includes properties serving local customers, reported $164,350,570, down 5.63%.
Other Clark County markets posted gains. The Boulder Strip generated $80.5 million, up 3.51%, while North Las Vegas reported $26.8 million, an increase of 1.95%. Mesquite recorded $18.3 million, up 2.33%.
Outside Clark County, Washoe County reported gaming win of $98,169,040, an increase of 8.34% from a year earlier. Reno generated $70,490,683, up 11.07%, while South Lake Tahoe recorded $16,684,883, the state’s largest year-over-year percentage increase at 23.49%.
Elko County posted gaming win of $37,592,976, an increase of 4.52%.
North Lake Tahoe reported the largest decline among tracked markets, with gaming win falling 10.74% to $1,709,927.
Gaming tax collections increase
Nevada collected $89,509,125 in percentage fees during June based on taxable gaming revenue generated in May. The total was 19.07% higher than the $75,170,455 collected during the same period of the previous fiscal year, an increase of $14,338,670.
Fiscal year-to-date percentage fee collections reached $1,036,360,553, up 5.07% from $986,388,785 a year earlier.
The Gaming Control Board said the totals do not include $7,503,478 in transferable tax credits claimed during the fiscal year to date. The agency also noted that all reported figures are based on the latest available data and remain subject to revision.
