DAZN Bet has launched its online sports betting and casino platform in Ontario, marking its entry into the North American market.
The operator went live on Tuesday, adding Ontario to its growing list of regulated markets alongside several European jurisdictions.
“Canada is a market that values integrity and responsible play, and we are entering Ontario with a product that is designed for long-term sustainability,” said Valery Gelfman, CEO of DAZN Bet. “We are committed to operating with a local mindset and a customer-centric approach.”
DAZN’s established presence in Canada through its sports streaming service, including NFL broadcasting rights, is expected to support the rollout of its betting platform.
The company is also preparing to expand into Alberta after securing registration with the province’s gaming regulator. Alberta’s competitive iGaming market is scheduled to open on July 13, and DAZN Bet said it expects to be among the early operators.
“This is the beginning of a long-term commitment to the country,” said Richard Rawlinson, managing director of DAZN Bet Canada.
DAZN Bet’s launch adds to Ontario’s established regulated iGaming market, which continues to attract new operators more than four years after opening.
As of Tuesday, Ontario had 47 licensed operators running 81 approved sports betting, online casino, poker and other iGaming sites, excluding the government-run Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
Unlike many competitors in Ontario’s crowded online gaming market, DAZN Bet leverages its parent company’s established sports streaming platform to integrate betting with live sports viewing.
DAZN currently holds broadcasting rights for major sporting events and leagues, including the NFL, UEFA competitions, boxing events, LIV Golf, and MLB Network programming, among others.
The company’s strategy centers on combining live sports content with optional betting features. In markets where regulations permit, DAZN integrates live betting odds directly into broadcasts alongside statistics, highlights, and other interactive features.
Speaking earlier this year at ICE 2026 in Barcelona, DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev said the company aims to offer more than a conventional sportsbook. “We don’t want to create just another betting site,” Segev said. “When you go to DAZN, you go because you like sports. If you want to bet, it’s completely optional.”
The approach mirrors similar integrations already seen in Ontario, including sportsbook partnerships featured during sports broadcasts and betting odds embedded within sports media applications. However, DAZN believes its unified watch-and-bet ecosystem can further differentiate the platform in the market.
