Macau International Airport recorded around 3.90 million passenger movements in the first half of 2026, up 7.9% from a year earlier, as strong first-quarter travel offset a slowdown in the second quarter.
According to data released by Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM), the airport handled 3,896,692 passenger movements during the January-June period.
March was the busiest month of the first half, with 720,175 passenger movements, following 680,282 in January and 716,963 in February.
Passenger traffic eased in the second quarter, falling to 666,416 in April, 587,778 in May, down 0.45% year-on-year, and 525,078 in June, a decline of 9.3% from the same month last year.
The airport handled 28,957 aircraft movements in the first six months of 2026, an increase of 2.19% compared with the corresponding period a year earlier.
Aircraft movements also peaked in March at 5,373, up 13.12% year-on-year. January recorded 5,246 flight movements, while February saw 5,333, an increase of 20.03% from a year earlier.
Flight operations slowed in the second quarter. Aircraft movements rose 3.46% year-on-year to 4,841 in April before declining 8.64% to 4,240 in May and falling 13.11% to 3,964 in June.
The June figures marked the sharpest year-on-year declines in both passenger traffic and aircraft movements during the first half, reflecting weaker aviation activity toward the end of the second quarter.
