Novig has launched its federally regulated sports prediction market across the US after receiving Designated Contract Market (DCM) status from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
The nationwide rollout introduces several platform upgrades, including instant live trading, deeper liquidity, improved market quality, and expanded payment options. The company said the enhancements are aimed at providing users with a faster and more efficient sports trading experience.
Novig said its federally regulated platform includes safeguards designed to strengthen market integrity and responsible participation. These include market surveillance, protections against market manipulation and insider activity, and compliance measures intended to protect participants.
The company also bills itself as the only sports prediction market to maintain a minimum age requirement of 21 years.
“Sports fans have had limited ways to engage with the markets they know best,” said Jacob Fortinsky, co-founder and CEO of Novig. “They are among the most passionate and informed communities in the world, yet they’ve never had a platform truly built around how they think, engage, and trade.”
Fortinsky said Novig was built to change that “by setting the standard” for what a modern sports prediction market should be. “
That has meant building with trust, transparency, and responsible participation at the center,” the CEO added. “This launch is a major step toward bringing that vision to more users than ever before.”
Novig announced it has surpassed $6 billion in cumulative trading volume, making it the fastest-growing sports prediction market in the United States. The company expects the nationwide launch to accelerate adoption whilst continuing to expand liquidity and market efficiency.
Established in 2021, Novig initially operated as a sweepstakes sportsbook and built an in-house trading team to allow for more peer-to-peer exchange before pivoting to prediction markets.
As part of its expansion, Novig filed for regulatory approval with the CFTC in January and closed a $75 million funding round a month later. The latest investment brought the company’s total capital raised since September 2025 to more than $100 million.
Novig said its platform is designed to offer an alternative to traditional sports betting by removing what it describes as unfair odds and restrictions on successful players.
