Hill will move into the executive committee COO position next year, with Flutter saying the new function will help to “maximise the benefits of its global scale and also support the strategic direction of the business”.
He will continue to serve as CFO until Edgecliffe-Johnson joins the business in the first half of 2023 to help ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
Edgecliffe-Johnson currently serves as CFO and group head of strategy for InterContinental Hotels Group and has done since 2014. Prior to this, he held a series of senior vice president roles at the hotel business.
Before joining InterContinental in 2004, Edgecliffe-Johnson was an associate director for corporate finance at HSBC.
