Sportradar has launched its own iGaming brand, which it said combines sports data expertise with casino content in the “next step in the evolution” of its iGaming business.
Announced on Tuesday, Playradar will leverage Sportradar’s sports data to produce proprietary hybrid betting content.
Playradar will provide a live 24/7 experience centre in which players can view livestreams of sports content with the option of betting real money.
The platform incorporates social features, enabling users to interact in real time by sharing insights, reactions and tips.
Live and historical streaming sports and casino content will also be available, with the aim of turning sporting moments into event-driven gameplay, combining sports streaming with casino mechanics.
Sportradar said the brand would only operate in regulated markets, with game releases scheduled throughout 2026. It has plans to initially roll out in the UK, North America and LatAm.
It said the majority of its existing clients operated both sports betting and casino, making Playradar a “natural channel” for long-term monetisation.
Founder and CEO Carsten Koerl said the product would strengthen the company’s ability to execute its long-term growth strategy.
“Playradar content is designed to provide optimised cross-sell between the worlds of sport and casinos, helping operators to increase player value and session length at a time when engagement and retention are key to operational sustainability,” Koerl said.
Haitin brought in to lead Sportradar’s iGaming charge
In early January, Sportradar announced the appointment of Edo Haitin as its executive vice president of iGaming.
Haitin brought with him over 20 years of experience, previously serving as CEO of Playtech Live.
“We’re uniquely positioned to seamlessly blend live and historical sports events, innovative gaming mechanics and casino content and have the advantage of being able to distribute games to an already licensed portfolio of operators,” Haitin said.
“I’m incredibly excited to be further strengthening our iGaming business through Playradar and to grow it into a leader in iGaming content, leveraging Sportradar’s existing resources and the highly experienced and skilled team already in place.”
