Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Super Group, which first agreed to buy DGC in January of last year, said the purchase would allow it to launch in the US.

DGC is live in a total of eight states across the US – Iowa, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Virginia and Ohio – exclusively licensing Super Group’s Betway brand in each of these markets.

The business also has plans in place to launch in Louisiana during the first quarter of this year.

“We are excited to officially welcome DGC into Super Group,” Super Group chief executive Neal Menashe said. “We look forward to working more closely with the team as we apply our proven toolkit to the US.”

“With a healthy balance sheet and a consistent track record of driving profitable growth, Super Group is well positioned to enter the US market, enhancing our global footprint.”

Super Group acquisitions

The deal marks the latest acquisition for Super Group, which in September also completed the purchase of UK-focused online casino business Jumpman Gaming.

In addition, the group sin November said it had opened talks with Apricot, its long-time partner and the sportsbook provider for a number of jurisdictions in which it operates, over a potential acquisition.

These discussions, which at the time were at an early stage, included the possibility of the group obtaining full ownership of the supplier through an option to purchase a copy of the underlying technology in the future.

Super Group said it could not give any assurance on reaching binding terms.
