s the global gaming industry prepares to reunite in Las Vegas for the Global Gaming Expo (G2E), from Oct. 4-7, the event organizers have issued a new health and safety update, described as the event’s “top priority” in a new press release.

“We know the success of the show is dependent upon providing a safe environment to conduct business,” says the statement.

The team is currently counting with input from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers and is evaluating a variety of protocols to enhance guidelines. This may include proof of vaccinations or a negative COVID-19 test for all G2E 2021 visitors, exhibitors, media, staff, and other event participants.

In order to follow the continuously evolving federal, state and venue requirements on the subject, the G2E 2021 team has been updating its health and safety guidelines since announcing that it would be held in person.

One of such measures taken involves an alignment with Nevada’s updated mask guidance, making it mandatory for individuals to wear a face covering while attending the expo.

Moreover, G2E has also worked with The Venetian Resort and Sands Expo & Convention Center to implement cleaning and sanitization standards that meet or exceed the recommendations of the CDC; and layout has been adjusted to implement directional and distance markers.

“These updates reinforce how quickly the state of the pandemic changes,” says the new G2E statement, while admitting mandates may change again “by the time we convene in October.” New updates will be communicated in the G2E health and safety page.

“I look forward to celebrating our industry’s resilience, recovery and future as we come together for the first time in two years at G2E 2021,” on Tuesday said Bill Miller, CEO of the American Gaming Association (AGA), which co-organizes the event with partner Reed Exhibitions. In a press call Tuesday to announce record gaming revenues in the US, Miller said registration for G2E was “off to a strong start.”

The new edition of the Global Gaming Expo is expected to highlight the latest in core gaming, sports betting, iGaming and digital payments, and registration is currently open. G2E will also have virtual offerings for those who cannot attend in-person.
