ith the G2E Las Vegas event coming up next month, it being the first one of this magnitude taking place face-to-face after the start of the pandemic, the brand announced on Tuesday the health-care protocols that will be required to attend the trade show.

Through a press release, Global Gaming Expo announced that it will be mandatory to present proof of having had at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, in addition to wearing masks during the event.

“Our highest priority for G2E 2021 is providing a safe and productive event for the global gaming industry,” said Meredith Pallante, vice president, global events at the AGA. “We know how important vaccines are to continuing gaming’s strong recovery. Vaccinations are also one more tool to help us safely welcome the industry back to Las Vegas for another fantastic show.”

The new requirement—supported by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM)further aligns G2E with Nevada’s guidance regarding COVID-19 mitigation and reflects the changing state of the pandemic across the country.

“We know how enthusiastic the gaming community is about G2E 2021 and we also understand the importance of hosting an event where everyone feels as safe as possible,” said Korbi Carrison, G2E event director. “We are continuously following government and public health guidance and having data-driven conversations with health and safety experts to guide our decision making. We’re thankful for exhibitors’ and stakeholders’ continued support throughout this process.”

Proof of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the FDA or authorized for emergency use by the FDA or WHO will be required for all exhibitors, attendees, speakers, media, and AGA and RX staff. More details on the updated policy are available in the Health & Safety Guidelines and verification measures will be available soon.

Combined with face coverings and other G2E health and safety guidelines, vaccinations will support a productive and safe G2E 2021. The requirement of at least one dose of an FDA approved or FDA/WHO emergency authorized COVID-19 vaccine aligns G2E with Nevada’s recent large event guidance. Vaccine.gov offers more information if you’re interested in learning about the COVID-19 vaccine or how to schedule your vaccination. More details on verification measures will be shared soon”.

G2E has also committed to increased cleaning and sanitization standards that meet or exceed the recommendations of the CDC, and updated layout and exhibitor guidelines with capacity management and physical distancing in mind.

The G2E event will take place in Las Vegas, from October 4-7 at the Sands Expo Convention Center.
