GT PlaySports is expanding its sports betting footprint in the U.S. as its platform will power Stillaguamish Tribe’s Angel of the Winds Casino Resort in Arlington, Washington, announced the company on Wednesday.

The casino is set to leverage International Game Technology’s PlaySports turnkey solution for retail and on-premise mobile sports betting. Stillaguamish was one of 11 tribes that signed sports betting compacts back in May, which followed four previous agreements with other tribes, including the Snoqualmie Tribe.

Angel of the Winds Casino Resort patrons will be able to experience this new and exciting form of gaming from anywhere on our property, thanks to IGT’s omnichannel PlaySports platform,” said Travis O’Neil, Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort CEO.

The executive considers that IGT’s comprehensive solution, paired with its experience and expertise, will enable the casino “to offer a world-class sports betting operation” for many years to come.

The casino, near Arlington, Washington, opened in 2004 and was later expanded to include a 125-room hotel in 2015. A further expansion program was announced in 2018, which saw the opening of an expanded gaming floor and bar in September 2019, followed by a bowling alley and an event center.

“As the leading choice for U.S. operators to power their sports betting enterprises, IGT PlaySports is thrilled to add Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort to our growing list of customers,” said Enrico Drago, IGT CEO Digital & Betting. “Our proven all-in-one PlaySports technology was designed to offer maximum flexibility for operators of all sizes to seamlessly establish exciting sports betting programs.”

The Stillaguamish Tribe’s casino isn’t the only tribal gambling facility powered by the PlaySports platform for retail and mobile sports wagering in the U.S. Three other tribal casinos run their operations in partnership with IGT’s solution, with the Oneida Casino in Wisconsin having finalized an agreement with the company on September 2.

IGT first entered the Washington market back in July, via a partnership with Snoqualmie Casino, also utilizing the platform. This second agreement in the state marks one of the first important supply agreements overseen by IGT’s new Digital & Betting business segment, announced on September 8.
