Entain announced Wednesday it has been recognized for its leadership on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) with an award and inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2022

Entain is the only global sports betting and gaming group included in the yearbook, which is drawn from the best performing companies within the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (“DJSI”).

Commenting on the inclusion, Entain’s Chief Governance Officer, Robert Hoskin said: “We are delighted to be included in the S&P Sustainability Yearbook which is which is tremendous recognition of our efforts to lead on the issues that matter to us – sustainability, diversity, and responsibility.”

Launched in 1999, the DJSI has become the gold standard for corporate sustainability. Using the SAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), the DJSI assess over 7,500 leading sustainability-driven companies based on analysis of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors as well as S&P DJSI’s robust index methodology

Through a consistent, rules-based methodology, the analysis looks at an average of 600 data points per company into one overall score to determine index inclusion.

In order to be listed in the Yearbook, companies must score within the top 15% of their industry and must achieve an S&P Global ESG Score within 30% of their industry’s top-performing company.

In addition to the companies’ sustainability scores derived from the CSA, a qualitative screen based on SAM’s Media and Stakeholder Analysis (MSA) is applied to determine eligibility for inclusion in the Sustainability Yearbook.
