Caesar Entertainment’s former Indiana Grand horse track casino in the central Indiana city of Shelbyville was expanded and rebranded Tuesday as Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing and Casino, becoming the second Horseshoe casino in the state. The occasion was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Greg Small, Indiana Gaming Commission Executive Director; Shelbyville Mayor Tom De Baun and Caesars executives.

The rebanding caps a $33.7 million expansion and renovation that included the creation of a 5,000-square-foot World Series of Poker Room featuring 20 tables; a 20-seat video poker bar with 65” LCD overhead screens; new table games, slots and gaming chairs; new design elements throughout the gaming floor; and more than 100 new jobs. This process began in April 2021.

The Shelbyville property is also in the process of constructing Brew Brothers, a new eatery adjacent to the Caesars Sportsbook located inside the casino.

In an official press release, Dan Nita, regional president for Caesars Entertainment, spoke and said: “The Horseshoe brand was founded on the commitment to making it right for the gambler, focused on service and dedicated to our guests. We look forward to celebrating this next chapter in central Indiana with Horseshoe”.

Steve Jarmuz, senior vice president and general manager at Horseshoe Indianapolis, added: “Being able to link our property and services to the Horseshoe brand will enhance the gaming, racing, dining and entertainment experience for our guests. The addition of the World Series of Poker Room coupled with our Caesars Race and Sportsbook gives our guests a unique menu of gaming opportunities, all located on one floor”.

According to the Indiana Gaming Commission, the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond ranked second for monthly revenue in January, closely followed by Horseshoe Indianapolis in third place out of the 12 state-regulated casinos.

Earlier this month, Caesars Entertainment announced its Lumière Place Casino & Hotel in Saint Louis, Missouri will become Horseshoe Saint Louis in a rebranding process that will be part of a property transformation expected to finalize in spring 2022. This renovation will include a renovated exterior with Horseshoe signage and a new look for the casino floor, including new slot options.

The company also announced its return to Las Vegas amid another transformation and rebranding process to be launched at Bally’s Las Vegas, which will begin in the spring of 2022, and will include a renovated exterior, new entertainment and food and beverage options, and a redesigned casino floor and public areas.
