Betfred Sports announced Monday it has kickstarted its sports betting mobile operations in Arizona in alliance with the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort, after a soft launch in late January. The Betfred Sports-branded iOS and Android apps now allow bettors to wager on any device within the state. A retail sportsbook is expected by late summer.

Sports fans now have access to dedicated pages for college and professional sporting events with real-time updates on a variety of betting types including straight bets, in-play wagering, parlays, teasers and more. New customers will receive up to a $3,000 welcome bonus series upon signing up.

While the temporary betting station is currently available at WKP Sports & Entertainment Sports Bar Thursday through Sunday each week, the companies will also partner to build a Las Vegas-quality retail sportsbook at the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort scheduled to open late Summer of this year. The resort is owned and operated by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.

In an official press release, General Manager Mary Ketterling spoke about this new milestone and said: “Three months ago, the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort and Betfred Sports introduced sports betting kiosks at our beautiful desert gaming destination, and most recently opened a temporary full-service sportsbook. Adding mobile apps is one more way we can offer Arizonans an easy, user-friendly and unparalleled sports betting experience.”

Betfred Sports COO, Bryan Bennet, added: “I could not be more excited to expand our Betfred Sports betting apps into the Arizona market. We look forward to offering customers in the entire state unique experiences that they can’t access on any other platform. Our team has worked diligently to bring this to fruition.”

Meanwhile, Arizona is moving forward in its road to consolidating the state’s three regulators -the Arizona Racing Commission, the Arizona State Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts Commission, and the Department of Gaming– into a single, new state gaming commission. In late February, it was passed by the Arizona House Rules Committee and moved to a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing.

Arizona’s nine mobile sports betting sites, plus two in-person sportsbooks operating in downtown Phoenix took about $467 million in total wagers for November, which was the third operational month since its legalization. With November’s wagers, Arizona has become the fastest state to top $1 billion in total bets placed of all legal markets.
