Bally’s Atlantic City is set to debut its latest amenity this summer, on Memorial Day Weekend: Carousel Bar, which revolves 360-degrees as guests enjoy its offerings. The one-of-a-kind bar is described by the casino operator as a “must-see attraction” and “the quintessential meetup place” at its reimagined New Jersey property, and will be open seven days a week.

The Carousel Bar was conceived to add excitement to Atlantic City with “a nostalgic, modern twist.” The attraction offers “a subtle nod” to the timeless amusement found along the city’s boardwalk, the company describes.

“Carousel Bar captures the essence of iconic experiences through its central feature, an elevated 24-seat rotating bar reminiscent of a carousel,” a press release explains. “With 360-degree views of the casino and adjacent areas, it is the first venue of its kind in Atlantic City.”

Bar guests can enjoy modern, craft cocktails at the amenity, inspired by Atlantic City flavors, including Saltwater Taffy, Cotton Candy, caramel popcorn, and more. The amenity is located adjacent to the casino floor and new hotel lobby.

Every aspect of the Carousel Bar’s design, from the color palette to custom curved lighting fixtures above the bar, lends a nod to the boardwalk “creating a feeling of nostalgia and whimsy,” with the changing light nodding to illuminated seaside amusement rides. Around the revolving bar will be a lounge area that will seat between 55 and 70 people, who will act like spectators to the action in front of them.

The Carousel Bar idea came from the executive team at Bally’s after visiting a similar bar in New Orleans, which saw the opportunity to do the same in Atlantic City. “We started thinking about what could be a signature bar for Bally’s Atlantic City,” Paul Juliano, senior vice president of operations at Bally’s Corporation, told NJ Advance Media.

The floor, which rotates at 2.5-5 revolutions per hour, is slow-moving so that a guest can simply walk onto it, and will make a full revolution approximately every 15 to 20 minutes. The bar is set to play contemporary and upbeat music as part of its experience, according to a press release, and will bring “an attraction to the city that doesn’t exist in the market today.”

The new amenity is the latest unveiled as part of a multi-year $100+ million renovations process launched under the casino’s new ownership to rejuvenate the property. The reimagined venue also includes new hotel rooms, hotel lobby and The Yard, a beer garden-style venue that will offer live entertainment, a gastro-pub style menu, a curated tap list featuring local and national brewers, and craft cocktails.

The Yard, nestled between the Dennis Towers, is over 10,000 square feet with 5,000 square feet of new construction. It will also have ‘90s-themed arcade games, lounge-style seating, and an indoor and outdoor stage for live entertainment, and is also opening this summer.

Meanwhile, the property’s new hotel lobby is set to enhance the guest room experience from arrival to departure through an all-new design that includes a complete refresh of the space, from carpet to walls, to column enclosures. The front desk is reimagined with new finishes.
