LatAm-oriented exhibition and business fair GAT Caribe‘s second edition will be held this week in Punta Cana. The expo is set to offer a wide variety of activities, including a discussion on regulations with congressmen from the Chamber of Deputies, focused on studying in-depth the normative contents of a draft bill that seeks to update the regulation of the Dominican Republic gaming sector.

The academic agenda, in addition to these talks, will address, on June 9, major topics in charge of Evert Montero, president of Fecoljuegos (Colombia’s trade association); María Paola Isaza of V&I Legal Consultants; Liliana Viveros, of Betcris Dominicana; Iliana Pineda and Elizabeth Maya, of Cornazar. And in the corporate conferences, presentations will be given by Altenar on online gaming, and by MetaMap, a company specializing in cybersecurity.

The induction ceremony will take place tomorrow, Thursday, June 9, starting at 10:00 a.m., when GAT Caribe will analyze the gaming bill by Congressman Luis Henríquez. In the afternoon, the academic agenda will be carried out and the exhibition stands will be open to the public, with the participation of multinational and local brands such as BetConstruct, Betcris, Pragmatic Play, Altenar B2B, MetaMap, Cockpit Gaming, Juancito Sport, Alfastreet, Evolution Gaming, Superbets, IGC Gaming Systems and Solutions, Loteka and Zataca.

The participants, most of whom are staying at The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club, GAT Caribe’s headquarters, will enjoy the first networking activity today, Wednesday, aboard a ship that will allow them to see the famous beaches of Bávaro, Cap Cana, Corales, Playa del Cortecito, and Cabeza de Toro.

José Aníbal Aguirre, General Director of GAT Caribe, said: “In the Dominican Republic we find a very deep-rooted supply and demand for entertainment, and an industry interested in regulatory updates, which will be the central theme of the institutional activities that we will carry out.”

The Dominican Association of Gaming Casinos and the National Association of Sports Banks have been the spokespersons of this initiative and gathering. Fecoljuegos and V&I Consultores Legales are the coordinators of the academic agenda for tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday 10, when we will close with a Compliance Workshop, an unprecedented feature in this type of business meeting. Cornazar (Colombia’s National Corporation of Gaming Entrepreneurs) will also share its vast experience and knowledge in the training of the visiting operators of the event,” he added.
