Gaming provider Zitro announced that thanks to the implementation of an internal action plan, the company has managed to reduce by 80% –compared to the previous year– its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from energy consumption in software and, on the other hand, has opted for collaboration with suppliers committed to the use of environmentally friendly materials in their manufacturing

The company made the announcement in a press release in which it reaffirmed its commitment to the environment and assured that this is part of its strategy of social responsibility and sustainability, under which they have taken new measures to further reduce the impact of the company’s carbon footprint.

In the press release, the company clarified that the carbon footprint refers to the amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated, directly or indirectly, by the development of economic activities.

Johnny Ortiz Viveiros, founder of Zitro, said: “As a company, we have a corporate social responsibility and at Zitro we always try to be one step ahead. Implementing policies that help protect the environment is part of our company philosophy, so we are committed to sustainable sourcing and prioritize suppliers that engaged with emissions-improvement efforts.”

We encourage other companies to join new initiatives that promote the sustainable development of their business. Together we can offset our footprint and make a positive difference,” he added.

In the announcement, the company reassured its commitment to improving day by day and reducing its environmental impact. Thus, the business has once again updated its carbon footprint calculation, analyzing the stages of its products’ life cycle: from the acquisition of raw materials, through manufacturing, transportation, use and waste management.

The company further added that its Zitro Laboratory has implemented new measures to reduce its ecological footprint with the creation and implementation of new sustainable policies. These include the organization and internal planning of energy consumption in the framework of product development, as well as the sourcing of raw materials from local suppliers for the manufacture of its products, which results in savings in energy used for transportation logistics, considerably reducing the carbon footprint.
