As Brazil keeps debating the legalization of different gaming verticals and sports betting regulations near, the second edition of the Brazilian iGaming Summit (BiS) has kicked off today and will run until Wednesday in Brazil’s capital city São Paulo, with sold-out tickets, stands and sponsorship packages for the Espaço Boulevard JK building in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood, and in-person coverage by Yogonet. Also, the inaugural Affiliates Latam 2022 event will be held on Thursday.

Organizers Jericho Eventos expect more than 1,000 attendees including politicians, regulators, operators, authorities, and over 35 exhibitors. One of the highlights for the event will be a lecture delivered by Iuri R. Castro, Undersecretary of Lottery Regulation, Brazil’s Ministry of Economy. Titled “Updates and progress of Regulation in the Government”, it will be held on Wednesday, day two. All lectures can be watched online and live for free here.

Pragmatic Play is one of the Diamond Sponsors of the event, an upgrade compared to its participation in 2021 as a master sponsor. Victor Arias, the company’s Vice President of Latin American Operations, said: “BiS is a great opportunity to reconnect with the main representatives of the Brazilian market”.

For Arias, the event is essential for growth in the country: “It is an opportunity to connect, exchange opinions and grow qualitatively and quantitatively, at a key moment for our sector in the country. As in the 2021 edition, we are very proud to participate because it means that we maintain the objective of location and of being active participants in the industry in the region.”

Sportradar, a global sports technology and data company that creates immersive experiences for sports fans and bettors, will also be one of the companies that confirmed their booth at the event.

SoftConstruct‘s VBET also confirmed its participation in the three days of the event, repeating its presence of last year’s inaugural edition. The iGaming brand will also deliver a “Good Practices” lecture on Wednesday. Davit Hovhannisyan, Deputy Head of Affiliate Department, commented: “There are potential regulatory changes in our industry right now and for VBET, as an award-winning international betting and gambling company, BiS is a great opportunity to be close to our customers, affiliates and partners and strengthen our bonds as a family.”

New this year is Affiliates Latam on Thursday, June 30, an exclusive event for the iGaming market focused on sports betting, casino games and lotteries. The event will feature the presence of important companies in the sector, experienced speakers in affiliate marketing and digital media in general, in addition to hundreds of affiliates, “forming a perfect networking environment.”

More space next year

The registration numbers and pace have led the organization to announce that the 2023 edition will be held in a “much larger space” with the capacity to support the demand. In a statement, Alessandro ValentePresident of Jericho Eventos and one of the creators of the event, also confirmed the possibility to attend the lectures this year online and for free, for those who were not able to buy tickets.

Alessandro Valente, President of Jericho Eventos

Since 2018, interest in the iGaming sector has grown rapidly, and in the face of several opportunities that the Brazilian market has offered to foreign and local entrepreneurs, “the popularity of the subject has accompanied this growth and the event in the current environment has ended up being small,” organizers argued. With the new structure, which is expected to be announced soon, there will be “plenty of space” for exhibitors to run customized stands with different dimensions, in addition to more spaced areas to better accommodate the growing number of the public.

“We believe that most exhibitors already wish they had more space to dare, but we will still have standardized stands for those who don’t want to do anything fancy. We are planning areas reserved for more informal conversations and also meeting rooms, but the networking area will be the main focus, with the necessary amplitude to allow circulation without agglomeration,” added Valente, referring to the plans for the next edition.
