Maryland’s casinos have reported flat numbers in June after recording the second best month in May since market launch. Last month, the six casinos generated $162.7 million of gaming revenue, up less than 1% from a year ago, and down from $178.8 million in May.

Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency reported the state’s share of June gaming was $68.4 million, the majority of which goes to the state’s Education Trust Fund. MGM National Harbor was the top generator last month, harvesting $68.4 million, up 7.4% from a year ago.

Live! Casino & Hotel’s gaming revenue was $56 million, 4.2% lower than a year earlier.  Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore saw little variation when compared to 2021, reporting $17.1 million in gaming revenue.

The state’s three smaller casinos, Ocean Downs, Hollywood Casino and Rocky Gap all had June gaming revenue totals that were lower than a year earlier.

The gambling regulator in the state saw a 3.7% rise year-over-year back in May, and the state casinos combined generated nearly $179 million in gaming revenue.  The figure was second only to July 2021, when the casinos generated $180 million in gaming revenue.
