Butler National Corporation announced Thursday that its wholly-owned subsidiary managing Boot Hill Casino & Resort in Dodge City, Kansas, has entered into an agreement with Golden Nugget Online Gaming. The DraftKings subsidiary could thus bring GNOG’s online interactive sportsbook to the state.

As Boot Hill Casino’s manager for the State of Kansas, the new betting law allows Butler National to contract with three sports wagering platform providers, in addition to offering sports wagering at a retail sportsbook in the gaming facility. The company assured that it is “working diligently with regulations” to bring sports betting by Sept. 1, which was confirmed by authorities this month as the state’s official launch date.

Golden Nugget Online Gaming is a recognized and established brand within the gaming industry. We’re thrilled our customers may soon experience all the excitement that online sports betting has to offer with this popular platform”, said Butler National Corporation’s President Clark Stewart.

“In addition, we’re excited for DraftKings, as the parent company of Golden Nugget Online Gaming, to be able to bring Kansans a seamless, safe and premium sports betting experience through its Golden Nugget Online Gaming branded sportsbook, subject to receipt of requisite regulatory approvals,” the executive added.

The company also stated that GNOG’s mobile sportsbook would offer eligible Kansas “a robust, interactive suite of sports betting solutions and Kansas City fans will recognize the Golden Nugget Online Gaming brand as a trusted and legacy provider of gaming entertainment.”

“We are looking forward to driving new tourism and revenue for the State of Kansas into Dodge City,” concluded Stewart. “Sports betting at Boot Hill Casino will give guests another exciting reason to visit Dodge City.”

Alongside Boot Hill, the Kansas Star Casino, Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway, and Kansas Crossing Casino & Hotel have also been cleared to launch sports betting. As for tribal casinos, they are working on new compacts with the state that would also grant them authorization to operate sports gaming.

Butler National first announced earlier this month the receipt of its Sports Wagering Management Contract approval from the Kansas Lottery. In addition to GNOG and DraftKings, the company has a sports wagering platform agreement with Bally’s Corporation.

Kansas’ sports betting market launch is now back on track after the state’s Attorney General greenlighted regulations on gaming this week. Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt gave full approval to the Kansas Lottery’s proposed rules for the market on Tuesday, after having initially rejected some of the provisions in early August.
