2023 has kicked off, and operators around the globe have high expectations for the new year. Ahead of ICE London 2023, which is set to take place on February 7-9 at ExCel London, where the gambling industry will be reunited once again, Yogonet spoke with Uplatform‘s Head of Marketing, Maria Bashkevich, and the Sales Team Lead, Nelli Melik, about the company’s expectations for the renowned event and plans for the promising year ahead.

What products will the company showcase at the event, and what will it focus on?

Nelli Melik: It’s important for us to nourish and improve what we have before moving forward; we’re all about growth and retention. A big focus of the event is to meet our valuable partners and gather their feedback. Regarding our offers, our Sportsbook will be in the spotlight, as well as the Casino Aggregator. API will also be actively promoted.

What will attendees approaching the booth find?

Maria Bashkevich: From my point of view, in-person events are not only about business and showcasing the product; they’re also about networking, building connections, and moving business relationships with partners to new, more loyal levels. And what can be better than, after discussing the deal, having a friendly chat over tasty drinks? We thought the same way and prepared for our guests a great refreshing bar point with aromatic coffee, delicious cocktails and mocktails, and unique bubble tea open to everyone.

Also, we’re well-known for having great entertaining games and attractions at our stands, and ICE won’t be any different. At our arena of impressions, you will get the chance to try your luck in our giveaway and check your speed and reactions in our game of light to win something bigger.

We’ve got more aces in our hands, but I don’t want to spoil the surprise. Let’s just agree that you’ll stop by our vibing stand S2-150 to get a new experience and a good mood boost.

Given ICE London’s status as one of the major global events in the industry, what are your expectations for the expo? What impact could the event have in terms of networking and on the company’s business strategy?

Nelli Melik: Uplatform receives more attention with every show, and we expect nothing less than the highest conversion we’ve seen so far. Our sales team is processing the incoming flow of meeting requests, and we are actively reaching out to potential clients and looking forward to a busy event!

How would you describe the industry’s and your client’s current demands at the time? What markets will you focus on at the expo?

Nelli Melik: As the copies flood the market, we stand out with our style and quality. There is a demand for stable yet flexible products, and that’s exactly what we offer. We will keep focusing on LatAm, Asia, and Europe, but we see no restrictions – with our localization tools, 30+ bonus types, and robust risk management, any market is within your reach.

The event comes as we enter a new year for gambling. What is your assessment of the company’s performance in 2022, and what should we expect from it in 2023?

Nelli Melik: We’ve just finished analyzing the year’s performance results, and I must say some projects did great work in 2022 by multiplying the GGR 2 and 3 times, even though they are already well-established in the market. Also, we had a few newcomers who finished the year with impressive numbers thanks to a very fruitful big sports events year. So I’m saying that we, as a platform and sportsbook provider, are very happy with the 2022 results, which motivated us to set even more ambitious goals for this year.

This year we’ll launch our Casino Games Aggregator with big and new brands in the industry. We will work on widening our infinite sportsbook by adding new esports, tournaments, and markets. Talking about the technologies, we’ll have a wide roadmap of updates to our administrative and marketing tools and platform in general, but it’s a long list, and I’m not sure if it’s the right time and place for it.

But I can say for sure that all those changes will smooth the way to achieving our goal for us and our clients. It sounds cheesy, but I’ve seen the roadmap of updates, so just trust me on that.

In an earlier interview with you, Maria, you told us that the company plans to launch its own casino aggregator this year. What further details can you share on this?

Maria Bashkevich: We are launching it. We know the market is highly saturated, but our product has great potential. We have 20+ providers in it now, and we already have a wide pipeline for integrating more until the end of this year.

We’re focusing on adding diversified, high-quality content from well-known and new yet well-liked players’ brands so that operators can have a balanced and profitable portfolio. It includes slots, live casino games, skill-based games, lotto, and fast games – all types of casino content. I will stop here. Make sure to visit our stand at ICE to talk with our sales team to get more details.

What other industry events does the company plan to attend this year?

Maria Bashkevich: We’ll be flying back and forth. We’re planning to exhibit at six expos and attend eight more. Plus, we’ll be participating in a few panels and host a summer roundtable. We also have some other plans but let me keep this for the next interview.

Our next stops will be Spice India, SIGMA Dubai, and G2E Asia.
