Station Casinos’ new Wildfire Casino has set an official date for its grand debut in Downtown Las Vegas. The venue will be opening its doors to the general public on Friday, February 10 at noon at 2700 Fremont Street, near Charleston Blvd.

Wildfire Casino on Fremont is set to be a 21,000-square-foot neighborhood casino that boasts over 200 of the “latest and most popular” slot machines, plus bar-top gaming and electronic table games.

The venue will be the first operated by Red Rock Resorts, the parent company of Station Casinos, in downtown Las Vegas. Dining offers inside the location will include IHOP and Tacos El Pastor. Crews turned on the exterior marquee for the first time on Friday, which unveiled the new gaming destination’s opening date.

The upcoming downtown venue sits on part of the old Castaways site, which is land Red Rock has owned for 18 years. In addition to its namesake venues in Summerlin and Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, Red Rock operates multiple gaming properties under the Station brand throughout the Las Vegas area. The company also runs 10 Wildfire casinos, including seven in Henderson.

The operator is also expanding in its home market of Las Vegas with Red Rock’s Durango casino hotel project in Southwest Las Vegas, which is expected to open at some point this year, marking the company’s entry into a less dense area of the Las Vegas Valley in terms of gaming properties.

The venue will feature 73,000 square feet of gaming space, a sportsbook, 2,000 gaming machines and 40 table games. Red Rock held a private ceremonial groundbreaking for Durango Casino & Resort in March. The property is set to create more than 1,000 jobs.

Back in September, Red Rock announced the closure of the Wild Wild West Gambling Hall & Hotel, located at the intersection of I-15 and Tropicana. The company is reassessing possibilities for that venue, which boasts a strategic location, and it should be redeveloped into another casino-hotel.

With its entry into downtown Las Vegas, Red Rock will extend its competition with rival Boyd Gaming, while more directly tussling with the likes of Circa, Golden Nugget, and others.
