Land-based and online casino operator Affinity Interactive announced that its affiliates have entered into a definitive agreement to sell Rail City Casino in Sparks, Nevada, to Truckee Gaming. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close before the end of 2023, subject to regulatory approval and the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

Located in Sparks, Nevada, Rail City Casino features approximately 24,000 square feet of gaming space. The casino operates nearly 415 slot machines, a keno lounge, and dining options that include Ale House American Café and a buffet.

Affinity Interactive now plans to invest in other opportunities that align with its core business and growth strategy, the company announced along with the sale statement. AI is a portfolio company of Z Capital Partners, the private equity arm of Z Capital Group.

Andrei Scrivens, Chief Executive Officer of Affinity Interactive, said: As part of the Affinity Interactive family, we expanded our offerings and capabilities, allowing us to continuously enhance the Rail City experience for our valued customers and gaming enthusiasts.”

Truckee Gaming is a Reno, Nevada-based casino company that owns and operates Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort in Verdi, Gold Ranch Casino in Dayton, Club Fortune Casino in Henderson, and three Pioneer Crossing Casinos located in Dayton, Fernley, and Yerington.

For its part, in addition to operating regional casinos in Iowa, Missouri, and Nevada, Affinity Interactive has a presence in the horse racing, iGaming, and sports wagering industries. The company owns the Daily Racing Form, DRF Bets, and DRF Sports.

Truckee Gaming’s purchase of Rail City Casino extends a busy deal-making period in Sparks, located near Reno. Last year, Century Casinos announced the $195 million acquisition of Sparks Nugget, including a 50% stake in the real estate entity that owns the venue. Last August, Legends Bay Casino opened in Sparks, marking the debut of the city’s first from-the-ground-up gaming venue in nearly three decades.
