Macao’s tourism industry is looking to bounce back from the pandemic with a new promotional campaign aimed at enticing foreign tourists to visit the city. The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) partnered with Air Macau to offer a limited-time ‘Buy One Get One Free’ deal on round-trip tickets departing from Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, or Vietnam with Macao as the destination. The offer is available until June 30, 2023.
In addition to air travel, MGTO has also teamed up with public transport operators to launch the ‘Macao Treat’ program, which offers free return tickets to tourists who stay overnight in Macao. The promotion, which runs from April 10 to June 30, covers a range of services, including land transport via HK-MO Express, One Bus Hong Kong Macau, and Eternal East Cross-Border Coach, as well as water transport via TurboJet and Cotai Water Jet.
Macao is known for its culinary diversity, blending Portuguese and Chinese heritage to create a unique East-meets-West cuisine. To showcase the city’s cultural offerings, MGTO has launched the ‘Experience Macao, Unlimited’ campaign, featuring a range of themed events throughout the year.
The monthly themes include ‘Spring into Arts’ for April, ‘May there be FUN’ for May, ‘Tasty June’ for June, ‘Summer Heat is On’ for July and August, ‘Autumn Delights’ for September, ‘Festive October’ for October, ‘November Formula’ for November, and ‘Dazzling Winter’ for December.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Macau casinos posted their best gaming month since January 2020 in March, delivering gross gaming revenue (GGR) of MOP 12.738 billion ($1.58 billion), according to information from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau. The figure represents a 23% improvement from February, but most notably, a 247% surge when compared to March 2022.
