New York’s Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino has been named a finalist in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The resort earned its spot as one of the 20 nominees for the “Best Casino Outside of Las Vegas,” chosen by a panel of industry experts and editors.
The announcement of Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino’s nomination was made by Seneca Gaming, the tribal company behind the resort. The panel of experts at USA TODAY selected the nominees, recognizing qualities in Seneca Niagara that sets it apart as a top contender for the coveted award.
President and CEO of Seneca Gaming, Kevin Nephew, expressed his delight at the nomination and shared his belief in the resort’s caliber. “From the day we welcomed our first guests, we have always thought that Seneca Niagara stood with the best entertainment resort destinations in the country, and we’re honored that the experts and editors at USA TODAY have nominated us for this honor,” he stated.
He also emphasized that the resort’s appeal goes beyond its gaming offerings, including its sports lounge, fine dining options, luxurious accommodations, and “world-class entertainment.” Nephew credited the resort’s atmosphere as a key factor contributing to its success.

Voting for the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards is currently open and will continue until noon on Monday, August 28th. The voting process is entirely digital, allowing individuals aged 18 and above to cast their vote once per day throughout the voting period on the official page. The winners of the awards will be announced on Friday, September 8, at noon.
The panel responsible for selecting the nominees for the “Best Casino Outside of Las Vegas” award includes industry experts and prominent figures in the field. Among them are Christopher Parr, founder and editor-in-chief of Pursuitist; Lisa Robertson-Dziedzic, publisher, and editor-in-chief of Casino Player and Strictly Slots magazines; Melanie Reffes, a journalist contributing to USA TODAY, CaribbeanTravel.com, and MarryCaribbean.com; and the editorial team of USA TODAY 10Best.
Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, located blocks away from the Niagara Falls, has been operating since its grand opening on December 31, 2002. Following a $100 million transformation of the former Niagara Falls Convention & Civic Center, the resort added a 26-story AAA Four Diamond Award-winning hotel tower in 2005.
