The Venetian Resort Las Vegas and Yahoo have announced a multi-year naming rights partnership for the new sportsbook on the Strip property’s main casino floor. Named ‘Yahoo Sportsbook powered by William Hill’, the facility spans more than 12,000 square feet and features a 46-million-pixel, 1,770 square-foot LED video wall that can display up to 40 independent sporting events at once. There are an additional 30 TVs spread throughout the sportsbook for bettors to watch while placing wagers.

“We wanted to create the best place on the Strip to watch sports,” said Patrick Nichols, president and chief executive officer of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. “This redesign pulls through the relaxed feeling of watching a game with your friends – plush sofas, lounge chairs, great game-day eats with the convenience of betting powered by William Hill. And through the partnership with Yahoo, we’re sure to have additional surprises in store for our guests as we move into football season and beyond.”

The sportsbook was completely redesigned for “a modern and luxurious setting” in time for the NFL, the biggest sports betting season of the year in the US. Plush sofas and lounge chairs provide seating for 105, and for group viewing experiences, two Fan Caves are available. The Yahoo Fan Caves feature 98-inch UHD 4K guest-controlled displays, food and beverage service, and seating for eight or 12. Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer and Noodle Asia will operate at the sportsbook and Fan Caves.

“We are excited and privileged to launch the Yahoo Sportsbook in partnership with The Venetian Resort Las Vegas,” said Ryan Spoon, president of Yahoo Sports. “The Yahoo Sportsbook will offer sports fans a fabulous setting to enjoy games in a one-of-a-kind, branded environment. This partnership is another step in our ongoing commitment to engage and delight sports fans through our Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Fantasy platforms.”

The facility also features a centrally located oval bar that seats 29 guests and houses 10, 65-inch 4K LED screens as well as a 97-foot, high-resolution ticker displaying live odds and scores. Table games are close by, along with bar-top gaming featuring the latest games, giving bettors an array of gaming options.

The sportsbook is the first brick-and-mortar sports wagering venue to bear the Yahoo brand. It comes as the Yahoo Sports unit, parent company of the second-largest fantasy sports platform behind only ESPN, attempts to broaden its footprint in the sports wagering space. As for The Venetian, the new sportsbook marks another key step in a broader $1 billion-plus remodel of the property, announced last year.

“We are thrilled to power this new sportsbook on the Strip,” said Michael Grodsky, vice president and head of west region digital operations at William Hill US. “Our market-leading tech has provided a best-in-class retail sportsbook experience in Nevada for a long time, and we can’t wait to bring this high-powered partnership to life for more sports fans alongside our new William Hill mobile sports wagering app.”
