In a recent meeting, the Nevada Gaming Commission unanimously approved licensing for Tilman Fertitta to expand his Golden Nugget brand to Lake Tahoe

Fertitta made headlines earlier this year when he announced his company’s acquisition of the 539-room Hard Rock Lake Tahoe in a cash deal of undisclosed value. Company officials confirmed that investments, totaling $227 million, would be injected into the Lake Tahoe property. Notably, a convention facility at the property was unveiled just last week as part of the planned improvement.

Fertitta Entertainment currently manages and operates casino properties across various regions, including downtown Las Vegas, Laughlin, Lake Charles in Louisiana, Biloxi in Mississippi, Atlantic City, and Cripple Creek in Colorado

The company is currently modifying the Wildwood Casino in Cripple Creek, Colorado, while simultaneously undertaking the development of a new property in Danville, Illinois.

Meanwhile, in Las Vegas, Fertitta is exploring the potential development of a Strip property. Plans have already been filed for a 43-story hotel-casino project, which comprises 2,420 rooms. The prime real estate for this endeavor, on roughly 6 acres at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue, was acquired in 2022 for a sum of $270 million.

The proposed project is expected to be a luxurious addition to the Las Vegas Strip. It is designed to include an array of amenities, such as upscale restaurants, extensive convention spaces, a spa, a wedding chapel, an auto showroom, and a theater with seating capacity for around 2,500 guests, as indicated by Clark County records.

Additionally, the project’s plans outline the inclusion of suites and villas, VIP salons, and a bar and lounge tailored to high-limit gamblers. While these details provide a glimpse into the project, specific aspects of the Las Vegas proposal were not discussed during the recent meeting.
