The latest edition of the SBC Summit Barcelona conference and exhibition took place from September 19th to 21st at the Fira de Barcelona Montjuïc, reuniting major stakeholders from the European market and beyond. At this year’s event, leaders in sports betting and iGaming assembled to discuss the future of the industry, exchange knowledge, and build powerful connections through dynamic showcases, panel discussions, and more.

Ayvar Gabidullin, Business Development Manager at Slotegrator, in an exclusive interview with Yogonet, discussed the company’s presence at this year’s SBC Barcelona and the main takeaways from the event. In the conversation, Gabidullin spoke about the importance of the summit and the Spanish-American market, plus the company’s new AI-powered platforms that headlined the event and new modules based on client’s needs, among other highlights.

Why was the event important for the company and what opportunities did it open? 

This year, our mission is to take deep dives into our markets of operation. The SBC Summit in Barcelona is an important arena for us because here we summarized the preliminary results of the year. 15,000+ industry professionals and 350+ world-class operators, suppliers, affiliates, media outlets, and start-ups from all over the world were there. That made it a great opportunity to meet our customers and clients to discuss the industry’s biggest topics and present our innovative solutions to the iGaming world.

What did attendees find at the company’s booth this time around?

Barcelona was the perfect place to present the new AI-powered capabilities of the turnkey online casino solution and our phenomenal mobile solution – Telegram Casino.

Slotegrator prepared an interactive presentation to demonstrate the following updates to its platform:
 
●      The business intelligence (BI) module, which helps operators track the analytical data they need to make strategic decisions, has become an Artificial BI module. Now it allows operators to compare indicators and profitability of their project with others that operate in the same market (withdrawal, average deposit sum, etc.).
●      Well-known modules like Casino Builder (for creating an individual site interface), Fraud Detection (for collecting Big Data to reduce different types of risks), and KYC (responsible for fast, smooth, and consistent user verification) now have improved functionality and design.
●      The platform now has ChatGPT integration, which can consult operators on how to increase income in their project, among other issues.
●      There’s also a novel multiplayer chat function that players can open on any of the front pages of the casino and communicate with other players. This effective retention tool creates an opportunity for networking and creating player communities.
●      The new payment switch feature automatically changes payment methods in case one of them drops. The process goes smoothly and seamlessly so that players don’t notice any changes

What opportunities does Slotegrator see in the Spanish market, and what other jurisdictions is the company targeting growth in?
 
Spain is one of the biggest markets in Western Europe, with its €7.6 billion ($7.9 billion) combined GGR. We are interested in this market because of the widespread passion for gaming and esports; annual studies show that the Spanish population really enjoys gambling.

From 2010 to 2020, according to Statista, more than 80% of the public participated in gambling annually. In 2021, the figure was 80.9%, slightly down from the 84.9% recorded a year earlier. So, we see great potential here with an abiding community interest.

Slotegrator’s showcase put AI at the forefront. How is this integrated into the company’s portfolio and what opportunities does AI open for your clients?

We presented the new AI-powered capabilities of Slotegrator’s turnkey online casino solution. We believe in AI and embrace this technology because of its efficiency and inexhaustibility. AI has fantastic potential for development in the areas of accelerated data processing, smart analysis, behavioral detection, and accurate prediction. All these options are useful in the iGaming sphere because they help to save time on routine, time-consuming, but nevertheless essential tasks.

We were happy to present our platform’s new AI capabilities, where the ‘headliner’ was an Artificial BI module. This module can assist the analytical department because it can compare a projects’ indicators and profitability with others that operate in the same market (looking at metrics such as GGR, withdrawal, average deposit sum, etc.). It can also automate player segmentation — which is only the beginning of the module’s applications.

The next ‘star’ is ChatGPT, which was integrated into the platform in the form of a chatbot that helps operators streamline their business operations, solve problems, and capitalize on opportunities in the rapidly evolving iGaming industry by providing real-time advice and insights.

In addition to AI, other topics that we have seen Slotegrator highlight as of late include Big Data, KYC, smooth payments, and novel retention tools. What was key in incorporating these features into the company’s portfolio?

First, our experts explored each of these options. Once we’d assessed the advantages, we invited our customers to have a dialogue. We’ve never included unnecessary options and features in our solutions only because of the hype; first of all, we look at the client’s needs and their interests in new features. So, after this preliminary research, we’ve decided to add these options to our flagship product – the turnkey online casino solution.

Slotegrator experts emphasize several must-have AI features that should be implemented into the modern online casino solution. The KYC module, the Artificial BI module, and the fraud detection module all benefit tremendously from AI integration, which lets them conduct identity verification, analyze statistics, and prevent fraud far faster and more accurately than a human could.

As iGaming expands, security challenges are also on the rise. Which are the main issues operators should be aware of in this area, and how does Slotegrator approach this complex topic?

As a business develops, it needs new security measures: new opportunities create new types of risks. To protect online casinos from different kinds of fraud, Slotegrator created a risk management module for its turnkey online casino solution. The module provides financial security and tracks suspicious activities, which facilitates risk management and guards against fraud. Data is structured in an accurate database for operators to easily process and analyze. In case of suspicious activity, a special notification will appear immediately.

The risk management module helps to identify and exclude players with multiple accounts, as well as help detect other signs of bonus abuse. The risk management module monitors user behavior and identifies suspicious activity, protecting the casino and saving operators. Operators can set the module’s attributes according to their preferences.

It’s impossible to be completely immune from fraud, but the risk management module monitors players in real time and alerts you when something is off. This kind of automated fraud prevention is light-years faster than any kind of human-powered strategy — which in modern times in our industry is a necessity.
