Day one of the third annual edition of the Gaming & Affiliate Marketing Event (GAME) kicked off Thursday in Greece. The event began with a welcome from GAME Greece 2023 Chairperson, Viktoria Soltesz, CEO of PSP Angels. Following this, Christiana Aristidou, Founder and CEO of The Hybrid LawTech Firm, delivered her keynote address, guiding attendees through the intricacies of the Greek regulatory landscape. 

The day “proved to be an exceptional and invigorating start to the summit,” according to its organizers, as attendees “witnessed a fusion of diverse perspectives, fostering a collective spirit of discovery and collaboration that will undoubtedly shape the rest of this remarkable event.”

The panel discussions kicked off with “The Path Ahead for iGaming,” moderated by Aristidou, and featuring perspectives from experts Sasha Boerma of Coastline Gaming and Tasos Belesis, Senior Consultant of Lotteries & Gambling.

We need effective compliance strategies with an understanding of both current and forthcoming regulations, with a focus on embracing technological advancements as tools for compliance,” stated Aristidou during the panel.

Krister Malm, Founder and Group CEO of Oddsium, moderated a discussion centered around strategies for creating a world-class gaming experience within restrictive regulations. Aristeidis Ilias, Megan Easey, and Pinelopi Kitsopoulou shared their perspectives on the topic. 

The next panel focused on driving diversity in gaming and sports betting and delved into the multifaceted aspects of product, customer, and employer enhancement. Megan Easey, Director of Operations at Wizard Games, guided the conversation, which featured Dimitris Farmakis and Panagiote Tsolis.

Following this, the first presentation of the day was delivered by Nikos Sardellis, Global Vice President of iGaming and Betting at Teleperformance, who delivered a speech on ensuring trust and safety in iGaming.

For his part, Anastasio Vasios, Director of New Regulated Markets Compliance at SkillOnNet, shared a presentation on practical strategies for compliance, AML, and KYC.

Later, Teemu Lehtinen, Country Manager at Oddsium Hellas, moderated a discussion on collaboration between regulators, suppliers, and operators to safeguard the market from unlicensed operators, with insights from Anastasio Vasios, Lars Kollind, Ohad Straschnov, and Xenia Neophytou.

Panagiote Tsolis, Director of Business Programs and Assistant Professor at the Hellenic American University, then took the stage to deliver a presentation that explored the pathways of education within the realms of gaming and marketing, emphasizing its career-empowering potential.

“Leaders who have a high-level view of how different parts of a system fit together need to be able to step back and see how all the pieces connect,” Tsolis said on the first day of the event.

The day concluded with a panel focused on the realm of AI-powered marketing. Guided by the moderation of Valentina Diaco, iGaming Marketing Advisor, it featured insights from Carlota Rincón Muñoz, Krister Malm, Vasilii Gamov, and Yaroslava Romaniv.

Together, they focused on practical strategies “that transcend the common buzzwords, providing valuable takeaways for our audience.” Viktoria Soltesz, GAME Greece Chair, delivered closing remarks ahead of the Networking Drinks Reception, where attendees fostered connections against Athens’ backdrop.
