The inaugural Pitch! networking event at Regulating the Game in London, which took place on September 25-29, has been described by its organizers as a “marvelous evening” packed with animated talks about leading RegTech solutions, innovative interventions for gambling harm, and leading thinking about certification and compliance.

Paul Newson, Director of Regulating the Game, described Pitch! as a networking event “designed to provoke innovation, inspire compliance, and excite the industry towards outstanding compliance and regulatory outcomes.” According to the Director, the event generated “a lot of pre-conference interest with heaps of inquiries from organizations wanting to talk at the event.”

Newson is a former President and Patron of the International Association of Gaming Regulators and a former Trustee of the NSW Responsible Gambling Fund.  He was responsible for public policy and regulation of liquor, gambling, and racing in NSW as Deputy Secretary in the NSW Department of Industry until mid-2019.

Already established in Australia, the Regulating the Game conference is described as a 5-day immersive program that focuses on leading-edge research, regulatory policy and practice, and ethical leadership in the gambling sector. It is in its third year and attracts attendees from around the world.

In the inaugural London event, the Pitch spots were filled by eight fintech and regulatory technology companies including BetBlocker, Better Change, AXES.ai, GLI, SGCertified, Armalytix, ClientScan, and SQR Group Limited. Each of these companies works to “uplift capability, remove friction, and enhance compliance outcomes in the sector as well as for purpose organizations working to promote safer gambling and prevent gambling harm,” according to Newson.

Applications are now open for Pitch! @RTG Sydney running March 10-15, 2024, with the early bird rate ending on October 31. To apply or for more information, interested parties are encouraged to head to the event’s website and submit their pitch now.

We are inviting applications from organizations and individuals interested in delivering short quickfire pitches to stimulate innovation, inspire compliance, and showcase ethical leadership as part of this exciting networking event,” the event’s news release detailed.

There are eight spots available, with anti-money laundering solution Jade ThirdEye, and Advanced Technologies Legal and Security Solutions (ATLASS), a contactless access control solution, having both already secured pitches.
