Rocky Mountain Gaming has unveiled plans to acquire the operational assets of two Cripple Creek casinos, Johnny Nolon’s Casino and the Colorado Grande Casino. The announcement, made on Wednesday, hinges on pending approval and licensing from the Colorado Division of Gaming.

Rocky Mountain Gaming is partnering with Minter Holdings to secure Johnny Nolon’s Casino and joining forces with G Investments for the operating assets of the Colorado Grande Casino. Both properties are managed by David Minter through Minter Holdings

David Ross, one of Rocky Mountain Gaming’s founders, said: “The Cripple Creek market is growing rapidly with Golden Nugget bringing in an anchor restaurant like Salt Grass, and the opening of Chamonix this month.”

Those two operators, at either end of the town, will help attract new visitors to Cripple Creek, and we think there’s an opportunity for our properties to offer a true locals experience that caters to individuals looking for loose slots and personal service.”

Both Johnny Nolon’s Casino and the Colorado Grande Casino boast a collective inventory of approximately 400 gaming devices, seven hotel rooms and oversee Maggie’s Restaurant at the Colorado Grande.

David J. Minter, the sole owner of Johnny Nolon’s and the primary stakeholder in the operational assets of Colorado Grande, expressed pride in the enduring legacy of these establishments.

“I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished at these two casinos over the years,” he stated. “While other casinos were coming and going and changing owners, we were a constant in this town. I look forward to seeing what Rocky Mountain Gaming brings to these casinos I love so much.”

This move follows other recent developments in Colorado’s gaming market. In the sports betting sector, Fanatics Betting and Gaming, a subsidiary of Fanatics Holdings Inc., successfully launched its sports betting platform last week, marking the eighth state in the operator’s expanding portfolio.
